Felix’s role with Akari is rife with this, as they both have attitude problems, both could be older than they look, all that. Honestly, Rival Akari stepping back and letting things happen is painful to watch, so without Felix there, she would have been put through his shit. Akari being the way she is, he can actually understand this in a Cosmic Horror sort of fashion. So, Akari’s role in the story, and relation, varies too! He probably literally saved Akari’s life, in the metaphorical way.
