VERY active in kinblr in 2018 following an incident that left me incredibly shaken and desperate for a community and found myself in second worst internet terminally online friend group i had ever been in (which would be followed by the worst a few years later but that wasn't kinnies)

I am so intrigued by blaseball what is this?

Oh god how do you explain blaseball, especially with how much more complicated it recently got

So, it's a... baseball simulation. It's very simple, all you really know are the names of the players, the teams, the players' batting, defense & pitching stats (and vibes, which are definitely real) and there's a little box of text during live games that tells you the plays being made

However, blaseball is essentially baseball with really weird extra rules. The teams play in weather conditions such as Sun 2, Coffee, Solar Eclipse, Peanuts, Flooding etc. Sometimes a rogue umpire incinerates a player during a solar eclipse, players can swallow stray peanuts and may have an allergic reactions, the weather just has really weird effects.

Also the plane of existence blaseball is played on has recently begun sinking into the immateria which means sometimes players are attacked by consumers.

Oh, and a dead player once just wandered out of the afterlife (the Hall of Flame) just 'cause they could, to the annoyance of everyone involved bc they are terrible (I love them).

It's confusing. There was a battle between a peanut god and a giant squid several seasons back. Spacetime broke at one point, resulting in the Grand Unslam and unlimited Los Angeleese (is that the plural of Los Angeles??). A Hellmouth opened under Moab, swallowing it whole and resulting in the Moab Sunbeams being renamed the Hellmouth Sunbeams. You get used to it.

The fun part, though, is the community:

Every week, elections are held, in which YOU can vote and then on Sunday, decrees and wills are passed and blessings are doled out according to the results, all of which affect the game - decrees literally change/add rules, while wills&blessings generally benefit the teams that vote for them in some way.

Also, since nothing is actually known about the players, people get to just make things up! If you come up with a particularly fun headcanon, it becomes widely adopted.

Anyway, I literally cannot explain the entire thing in a post, it's simply impossible. Just... go have a look. Maybe watch some youtube videos on it. I could maybe explain it somewhat out loud, given the chance, but even that I think would take. A while. And there'd be so many questions (which is actually one of the reasons that I think explaining Blaseball out loud works better, so ppl can interrupt like 'okay but what does that MEAN')

Stupid question: why can himiko toga be shipped with everybody? Is it just a personal preference?

Ah, that's because of a survey I did a few months ago. I am no good at picking what content is or isn’t allowed, so I asked people to vote on three topics. The results ended up as rules on this blog.

A quick summary of questions and the results:

1) If a character is 18+ but still in high school (e.g.: Mirio Togata, Nejire Hado, and Tamaki Amajiki), who should they be allowed to be shipped with? The results were that those characters could be shipped both with other high-schoolers and with other 18+ characters.

2) Should student/teacher ships be allowed? The result was a tie between yes and no, but I decided to be on the safe side and go with no.

3) Should content shipping Himiko Toga/Jin Bubaigawara be allowed? The results said yes, and since Himiko Toga is 17 years old and Jin is in his thirties, it made sense for Himiko Toga to be shipped with everyone.

The survey will be re-done once I hit my next follower milestone, which is about 120 followers away.
