she’s going to strangle farkle. she’ll have to bring a ladder, but she’ll do it. to be fair, a muffled voice in the back of her head, call her rationality, was telling her it was all a bad idea from the get-go. but her best friend was hurting. & she still is. isn’t it her job to protect her from that ? isn’t she supposed to be the one to keep her safe ? she’d take on all the darkness in the world to protect her light if she could. & while that’s hard to do, she can handle a bully who’s got nothing better to do than come after her best friend. she might’ve made some indelicate threats. their other friend might’ve heard them & apparently, he couldn’t keep it to himself. whatever, it would’ve come out eventually, right ? “ i’m sorry. ” at least she tries to convince herself she is. “ i couldn’t just do nothing, riles. i don’t want her anywhere near you & if that makes me the bad guy, fine. ”
