Gogo felt a sting of pain every time she looked at Tadashi. It wasn't necessarily that he was hurting her, or that he was unkind or even that he was different, but he didn't remember her and she knew that she couldn't expect him to. He was busy trying to remember things about himself and even before the accident he had never known about her feelings for him and that was what she told herself again and again as she started introducing him to facts about their life before he had disappeared in the fire. The others asked where she went every day. Hiro had told her she was shirking her duties as a hero and she felt like perhaps she was but it was for a good reason. Tadashi wasn't ready to face the others yet. He hadn't even been ready to face her, really, but they had fallen into the circumstances (literally on her behalf) and they were making the best of them. She loved him though. Amnesia and all. She loved the way he frowned, the way he smiled when something seemed vaguely familiar. She loved the way he still worried about her bruises and scrapes even though he didn't remember her from before. They were making new memories trying to remember the old ones and though he was harder in a lot of ways, he was still Tadashi. He was caring and focused and god, why did he have to look up at her like that when she was working? Seung had taken to working on her homework in his presence. She didn't know why, but she thought it might feel familiar to him. Might bring back some recollection of the time before he had forgotten. The scratch of her pen paused, and Gogo let her lips curl into a smile. ❝ How about I shout us a pizza? ❞ Because that too might jog a memory. It might bring her Dashi back to her.
( for truetadashi - a tomadashi drabble )
Tadashi was such a blessing to have around. Not that Gogo had ever really doubted that, but he was always there to help patch her up when she needed it (almost always) and he never complained. Instead he would just fling a smile in her direction and she would know it was genuine. Which was perhaps why the shift in her stomach had begun when that toothy grin was flashed in her direction. Three weeks had passed since she'd been injured last - perhaps a record for her - and yet he was still giving her that smile that made something in her collapse. Without even realising that she was talking, Seung had started to speak, ❝ I just walked into a door, ❞ Wow, what a lie, considering there was no indication whatsoever that she had in fact been faced with such an injury, ❝ Come with me to get some ice on my lip? ❞ He had never been one to deny her and so she hadn't waited for even a moment before evacuating the room and heading for the little kitchenette in the lab. She heard the familiar shuffle as he moved into the doorway and her cheeks flared a dark red. Whatever she'd been keeping in was released in a surge of emotion and Gogo's body forced itself upwards as best she could while her hand secured itself on his shirt, tugging him down the last of the ways to close the gap. The kiss wasn't anything to write home about as their lips met - it was clumsy and only lasted a few short moments before she broke apart as she realised what she was doing. ❝ Uh-ice doesn't work as well as kisses? ❞ Smooth, Seung. But at least Tadashi was grinning at her again.

The strong grip on each of Aiko’s arms usually sent a shiver up her spine, a jolt of pain overtaking the blonde, as she was carried throughout long, dark hallways that seemed to never end.
But this time it was different.
They had told Aiko that today’s experiment wasn’t just like any other. She wasn’t going to put herself through excruciating pain, nor someone else they were bringing someone in who could help her.
For that reason, she decided not to fight back the guards taking her to the experiment room. It wasn’t as if Aiko was in that place against her will as soon as she found out about the testing facility, she checked in herself, knowing it would be for the best; despite that, the guards still treated her roughly, as if she was a prisoner ready to escape, their rubber gloves burning her skin whenever they touched her.
Today, Aiko walked peacefully, eager to meet the person who could release her from the living hell she experiences every day of her life. She didn’t curse the crudity of the guards’ touch, as much as she wished they bared naked hands instead of the uncomfortable material that brushed against her skin.
She hoped that, after today, there wouldn’t be any more need for gloves, or to keep her distance from anyone else. She hoped she could live a normal life.
The guards led her to a small room at the end of the west hall one she hadn’t been in yet. Curious eyes travelled around the room, resting on the big machines with loud beeps, that Aiko knew were meant to monitor her vital signs. Apart from that, the room was mostly empty, with only a table at the center, and two chairs around it.
Aiko was pushed down onto one of them, and one of the guards strapped the monitoring device around her arm. After that, the two men left the room without a word.
The blonde took a deep breath, clasping her hands together to steady herself. It was the only human contact Aiko was allowed her own touch. Aside from that, she couldn’t touch anyone, not without the burning sensation that scarred her skin, and left the other person in a much worse state.
She jumped in place when the door opened again, and immediately raised her head to look at it only to find a young man, around her age, with an expression hard to decipher; he looked a lot like Aiko first did when she got to the facility. Was that it? Was he a new subject? Was that the new breakthrough she had been assured to work?
Aiko didn’t want to hurt anyone else; not after the trail of injured, sometimes lifeless bodies left behind her. If their idea was for her to test her condition on another innocent person, then she would refuse to cooperate, even if that could end badly for her.
She leaned back on her chair, keeping her distance from the man, so he wouldn’t feel threatened; Aiko knew how important that was, to feel secure in an unknown, scary place like that.
It wasn’t until the guards left again that she finally spoke.
“Hello.” Her lips curled up into a tiny, almost sad smile. “I’m Aiko.”

Another day, another failed attempt at finding a way out of the maze. Then again, she'd already been aware of it. There was no stone left unturned, no corner left to explore, nowhere else to look; there was no exit from their lives at the Glade nor the maze.
It's nearly dinner time and GoGo makes a final jog towards the large stone walls, a small sheen of sweat on her brow at the sun that had been beating down on her during the run. Another run by herself; these days it was rare to find someone that even wanted to venture into the unknown. And she couldn't blame them, truly. She'd never seen the grievers, had only heard their piercing shrieks in the middle of the night; seen the effects a sting had; and that alone was enough to make her never want to see one for herself.
The second her feet touch grass, she knows she can relax; the walls would be closing up soon as per usual and the grievers were no danger to her nor to anyone else the moment that happened. GoGo pauses momentarily, hands on bent knees as she takes a deep breath. Time to head into the map room and check if everything is in order; tomorrow was another day.
She takes a step forward before realizing that something is off; there's a sort of presence, something she can't fully explain. All she knows is that something changed from the moment she left that morning for her run up until now. She moves forward, intent on getting some water before checking the maps once more and notices the amount of other Gladers surrounding--a guy? Well, that was certainly new.
Doesn't matter. Boy or girl, he was still a Greenie; there was much for him to learn, things for him to do. And she wasn't going to be the guide for that. Someone else could take charge of it; she was too tired and had to prepare for the next day. There was no time for mingling nor showing him the ropes. Her feet pick up speed, jogging towards the group and by them, a scoff escaping her lips. She barely gives him a glance, only looking at him from the corner of her eye before a muttered statement came from her mouth, accompanied by a smirk.
"Welcome to the Glade, Greenie."
