✨✨You're home sitting at your kitchen table. Frank Ocean's 'Self Control' is playing as you stare at your laptop screen. Your table is littered with your lose papers and planner that you've been desperately trying to fill as your New Year's resolution.
You don't remember how long you've been staring at your laptop, but you decided that once you finished cleaning dishes that you were going to stay up and keep working towards your goals. Somewhere along the line though, your were hit with fatigue. You chuckle to yourself when you see your clock hit 11:24pm. You don't know how that happened so quickly but it did. You know you're not going to work on the last task on your planner. Its late. You're tired. And the process is taking to damn long
You're tired of talking about what you have planned. You're tired of working so damn hard. You need gratification. No matter how unrealistic you just know you needed it this instant. You let out a deep defeated sigh in order to fight back your frustration.
"Babe." A tired and groggy voice pulls your attention away from your laptop. For a moment you smile seeing your partner standing their rubbing their eyes. Their hair is a mess and their sweats are all disheveled.
"Come to bed." They sleepily command.
You absent mindedly nod in agreeance. You turn off your laptop but stare at your
planner. Seeing the last thing on your "To-Do List" not checked off instantly makes you feel like you wasted your whole day. You're never going to reach your damn goal.
"Babe." you ignore your partner. How do you expect to get anywhere when you've been working on the same task for what seemed like forever? How many more steps do you have to figure out for something that you thought you carefully planned already?
"Babe." the urgency in your partner's voice pulled you out of your head and you realized they had moved closer to you.
"It's ok. You can keep working towards it tomorrow. But you need to rest first."
You hear them...but all you could think about is how you're wasting so much time.
"Today was good", their voice interrupted your thoughts causing you to look at them, "You already did the first steps. Tomorrow you'll do more and then the next day and little by little you'll get there. It's going to take time, and that's ok. All that
matters is that you started."
You take a deep breath and nod in agreement. Earning a forehead kiss of approval.
"Now come to bed... Now." You laugh and let them lead you by your hand to your room.
"I did do good today huh?" You say more to yourself than out loud getting into bed.
"Yes. I'm proud of you". And with another forehead kiss you drifted off into your much deserved rest. ✨✨

someone reminded me today that they are paying you to practice. in whatever you're doing you're practicing and preparing for your hearts desire. so do the things you don't like doing or in my case shoot the subjects you don't like shooting but take it as practice and not as an unwanted task. trust your process
