Coming on here to put my favorite (maybe far-reaching) connection for the new Taylor Swift album (sorry y'all are getting my current interest)
Opals were once, in Ancient Greece, associated with oracles and prophecy
In TTPD, there's a song called The Prophecy, where the lyrics beg to change the prophecy
For Life of a Showgirl, there isn't Opal, but Opalite, which is a man-made variant
So if we consider the implications of organic opal vs Opalite, we get someone changing the prophecy
Is this a far reach? Almost certainly. But fuck it, I'm an English major and I love symbolism
