When we meet Kikuno, she will be newly married to a low ranking samurai, a jizamurai 地侍, during the 1450s in Japan, otherwise known as the Sengoku era. This was a time of great upheaval in Japan, with war lords constantly fighting one another for more land, more power and more prestige. Since she’s marrying into a low ranking family, I tried to keep the patterns in her outfits simple yet still a little elegant. Becoming the wife of a samurai during this time meant essentially becoming the head of the physical household — Kikuno will be on charge of keeping financial accounts, recording keeping, educating and raising any children they will have, and if needed, defending her home and family with weapons. A thing I really love about this time period with women’s fashion is that hair is “okay” to be kept down, whether a woman is married or not, unlike European fashion at this time. I really, really adore long hair, and I’m so excited to be able to finally give Kikuno beautiful long looks in the future.

筒為中國傳統白色和藍色的瓷器做的。 中國筷子很長。中國筷子比日本和韓國筷子很長。其他顏色都是我隨機選的顏色。

The holder is porcelain with classic white and blue traditional Chinese colour. Chinese chopsticks are long. Longer than Japanese and Korean. The rest of colours are random colours by me.

設計靈感來自於淘寶網站上銷售的瓷器筷子筒。

Design inspired from chopsticks porcelain storage product sold on Taobao Marketplace site.
