"I asked you first," she said. "Then yes." "How many times?” "Once." Agnes absorbed my answer as she chewed on her pencil. “On a scale of one to ten, how in love were you?" "You can't put being in love on a scale,” I said. “Either you are or you aren't.” "But if you had to say." I started flipping through my notes. Is it just me or does everyone think that The summer I turned pretty is the kind of show you would seriously like to hate, but just the beautiful faces and the plot of a 3 triangle and a girl who gets to choose between greek gods excite you? Jenny Han's Lara Jean represents an actual teenager with problems we can relate to, but Belly's character was depicted in a way where she was just messing around with boys' hearts just for the sake of living a dream teen life with the Conrad brothers. Not to mention, the whole plot felt like it was missing the key ingredient . The problem was not only with the belly but with every character. Susannah's cancer felt like a pushover. The Taylor and Steven scene was supposed to be dealt with better emotions and more time was to be given to that couple. AFTER JENNY HANS'S 'THE BOYS I LOVED BEFORE ' TSIPT SEEMS DRY?
