[A sombre feast takes place in the house of Boromir. The Noldorin lords are there with them; Angrod speaks with Andreth’s father, but Aegnor is nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he left early. Or perhaps it is because Andreth does not look for him. If she does, she will only remember their last conversation.]

Andreth (thinks): And yet I should like to see him one last time.

[A hand rests on her shoulder from behind. She is utterly surprised to see who it is.]

Andreth: My Lord Aegnor! I -- I did not expect to see you.

Aegnor: Did you think I would depart without a word to you?

Andreth: ...

Aegnor (quietly): I know this is crass of me, but would you join me at the river? 

Andreth: A final time, you say?

[Aegnor inclines his head, waiting for her answer.]
