HAHAHA HI COREY <3 no such thing as too abstract
anticlimactic + tsugakure
Tooru’s grip on her arm has been growing tighter and tighter by the minute.
Tsuyu doesn’t actually mind—it doesn’t really hurt, plus they’re watching a horror movie, and the anticipation has been building up for a while now. Some of their other classmates are fighting for their lives already.
“Are you okay?” Tsuyu asks anyway, just in case Tooru really is too nervous to continue on. It’s hard to tell, and Tsuyu can only make a guess based on how hard Tooru is holding onto her.
To her surprise, Tooru is much closer than she thought. Her voice is practically kissing Tsuyu’s ear when she whispers, “I’m okay! As long as I get to hug you when I’m scared, Tsuyu-chan!”
Somehow, despite her blood always running cold, Tsuyu’s cheeks warm. “Right,” she croaks back out. “Sure.”
The movie continues. As mentioned, Tooru begins hugging Tsuyu in a full-fledged cuddle session, her limbs wrapped around her frame. Tsuyu simply lets it happen, though she can’t deny her heartbeat’s steadily increasing pace or the fact that she… can’t really focus on the movie anymore.
At the end of it, Ochako approaches her, clasping her hands together. “That was so scary! I don’t know if I can sleep tonight, haha!”
“It was rather tense,” Momo agrees. “What did you think, Asui-san?”
Tsuyu fails to recall literally anything in the movie. Instead, she says, “I don’t know. I guess it was kind of anticlimatic.”
“Whaat? Tsuyu-chan, you’ve got nerves of steel!”
Yeah. Totally.
