Ezra resisted the urge to scoff.

Trailing behind the captain like a newborn deer, he tried to ignore the waves of nausea washing over him with every step and the way his vision blurred from dizziness.
He had to get away; away from here and from the wine-red eyes boring into his back, but the stench of death clung to his clothes, to his skin, to his very bones.
