“The Jellyfish” is here. Our flow visualization was successful. Josue was nice enough to stay at the wind tunnel into the wee hours of the night. This is a 2 second exposure of our florescent dyed tufts under UV light in the wake of a NACA 4412. You can clearly see a tip vortex on the lower left of the grid. The high concentration of tufts is a 2 cm grid, while the more spaced out tufts are a 4cm grid. In the top right corner you can see the wake behind the force balance assembly. I’m very pleased with the images we captured, and will be analyzing them more thoroughly with my team over the weekend. Its 2am and I’m tired.
