I don't get charged up by non-vintage guitars very often, but this guitar is so gorgeous it blows my mind. In fact, I really disliked paisley Teles right up until I saw this guitar...it completely changed my opinion of Paisley within about 2 seconds of spotting it! Another one from the #guitar show yesterday: 1967 #Gretsch #WhiteFalcon in primo condition. This one was actually being sold by my friend Rob from Long and McQuade, but the b*stard would not give me the $2000 "friend" discount I told him I was entitled to! That sonofab*tch! 😄😅😆 PS: I can only say this on Internets because I know Rob will never see this - he is probably the only guy I know that does not engage in social media at all. No Facebook...no IG...no tweeting...NOTHING! I don't think he even owns a computer! OMG: it's like running into an ex-girlfriend at speed dating! 😁 At the #TundraMusic #GuitarShow today I ran into my old 2010 #Fender #CustomShop '63 #Stratocaster #Relic (left)! This was the first Custom Shop #guitar I ever bought back in the autumn of 2010. How do I know it was mine? Well, check out the bottom right photo which I took back in 2013 - this shot was used for my Kijiji/Craigslist ads. See the distinctive wear on the left side of the lower bout? So compare that photo (from 2013) to the top right photo (taken today at the guitarshow). There is no mistaking that wear - this guitar was mine alright!! I should have asked the guy for the price, but he was busy with other people and I didn't want to wait. I bought it new in 2010 for $3500 CAD, and sold it in 2013 for ~$2000. I also saw it about 6 months or a year ago listed on Kijiji and the seller wanted $3800 for it. I don't know if the guy selling it on Kijiji then is the same guy that was selling it today, but if someone paid $3800 for it, they got royally screwed! I love the big #headstock AND #transitionlogo...which I usually associate with a '66...but there is always a bit of overlap with these things.
