“Seems like this trial’s taken a turn for the interesting, hasn’t it? I’m on the edge of my seat... or I would be, if I could sit there without falling off.”
“In any case, voting is now open! You can also change what side you’re on if you want. Will you make the right decision? Or will you be wrong?”
The investigation comes to a close quicker than anyone would have expected - it feels as though you only had a few moments to investigate, even though your Legal IDs tell you that more than an hour has passed. Whether everyone is ready or not, though, you all know what’s coming when the PA System starts up its telltale hum.
“With that, the investigation is over. Everyone report to the Courtroom now! There’ll be serious penalties if you choose to not participate in the trial.”
Feeling more hesitant than ever, all the remaining jurors shuffle over to the courtroom. The sight of how few of them remain is jarring. Also jarring is the fact that there appears to be one person missing.
Taiho-kun sits at the judge’s podium, leaning back on his chair with his feet on its surface.
“Nice of you to show up! Given that we’re short one person, I’d started to think that you all decided to start being cocky and stop participating in the trials. I can assure you all that your participation will be rewarded - except for that of the killer, of course.”
“As for the case of Mr. Ichimonji...”
“...Well, right now we can’t go looking for him. We have a trial to do, after all. But rest assured that he will be suitably punished for his failure to participate. You’d think the first two warnings would’ve sunk in, but...”
“Anyway, that’s enough of that. Here are your placements for this trial.”
You know the drill by now, and all look down at your Legal IDs as they light up with new information.
Trial 3
Defense: Nayo Ganaiyo, Nomi DePlumme, Bacchus, Selphie Stickland, Charlotte Choux,
“Looks like we’ll be dealing with a potential double murderer here. But whether or not they actually did the dirty deed... well, you’ll have to figure that out yourselves.”
With that, you all move to your respective benches - some more reluctantly than others. Taiho-kun bangs his gavel on the podium.
“All rise!”
“Court is now in session, the honorable Judge Taiho presiding. Calling for the case of The Court v. (Defendant), for the double homicide of Kin Oshiro and Pierrette Lefou.”
“If both sides are ready, let’s hear an opening statement from the prosecution.”
Bacchus slips out towards the infirmary as the other jurors start to file in. Katia and Nomi follow closely behind, telling him about what they saw.
Though, the site before them when they get to the infirmary is just as chilling as expected.
The body of your clown companion, Pierette LeFou is waiting for them as well.
Again the body discovery plays.
“Haha, another body has been discovered! A brief period of investigation will occur, followed by a trial to find the culprit. This body’s location is the infirmary, but please go to the crime lab as ordered!”
There’s something about the crime lab that has attracted the attention of several of the jurors - be it to investigate the photographs further, or to maybe try and find even more information about who or what is keeping you all captive here.
Though, even though Bacchus was only headed there to investigate - the smell in the air is heavy - he knows it well. So Bacchus peers into the crime lab, only to be faced with a scene of the inevitable he’s grown accustomed to in the courthouse...
Kin Oshiro’s dead body, lying on the ground.
Just as he’s about to alert someone else - Bacchus hears footsteps approaching the crime lab rapidly. It’s Katia and Nomi, and they have news.
They’ve discovered a body in the infirmary.
But... Kin’s body is...?
Bacchus slowly lets them see as the body discovery announcement plays.
“A body has been discovered! A brief period of investigation will occur, followed by a trial to find the culprit. Everyone please report to the Crime Lab so that we can begin!”
