American TV adverts are wild

Especially when it comes to medicine and drugs - according to them I could die by taking the stuff I take regularly to, you know, stop me from dying.

You want some paracetamol? Well it comes with a 3 minute warning about all the side effects of taking paracetamol. Ibuprofen? Exactly the same. Surely people should know that taking all 16 paracetamol or ibuprofen in a packet will probably kill you or at least put you in the hospital....

Let’s not even mention Japanese TV adverts, those things are dreamt up by someone who’s taken acid and has a fetish for Shokushu zeme

Hijacking Google Mini

A couple of years ago my nephew gave us a Google Nest Mini. It’s one of those electronic assistants that can do a whole bunch of things when programmed to do so, or asked. Yes indeed this little muggins can be told to do pre-programmed things when asked. It’s a small enough device that, as my Venezuelan wife points out, resembles one of that country’s favourite comfort foods, an arepa.
