I start living with a friend for a bit (as if I don't live with them but in our own house lmao) and I find out they get presents for their parents? They all do??? And apparently I'm the weird one because my parents never extorted me for gifts?

Normal driver is on holiday again (we just had a full week off, dude, why you gotta go for some weird jank ass set of days)

Driver I got put with today got stuck behind our bin trucks or smith, so picked me up late.

He did not know

Anything about where we were going because our boss is kinda not good at telling people things.

I found out about 17 hours ago that I would even be working today. This happens every time. At least the last people I got put with got given the addresses. . .

But this guy goes the way he thinks he should go. I don't know that it's gonna cause problems because I don't know shit. I just know I gotta tell him directions once we get close to pickups.

We basically do them in reverse.

So we're late to pick up the kid who is usually first. They get driven to school by a family member. A family member who gets stern with me after seeing us at the school.

I contemplate turning on the waterworks if it goes further than that.

Worse in feeling but ultimately easier to deal with is that there's a lockdown. Vehicles come in, no unloading until the road is filled, nobody leaves until everybody is gone. New guy, who does not normally do dropoffs there, just left. I tried telling him to stop. I explained what was going on. He just went anyway.

I, who was absolutely perceived as a boy back then, always wanted to help. Part of it was obviously that I needed to be useful, but I also at no point in my life ever thought of myself as a boy lmao. So I did the "no I'm a girl I can do it shit" thing and I guess everyone was none the wiser. . .
