Crowds and loud music had never really been Mikayla's thing. Between her and her mother, Penelope had always been the more outgoing one, and though Mikayla had insisted her mother come with her tonight, she was already feeling the need to get away. While she'd had a warning about not wandering too far by security as she made her way back through the front doors, the quiet of the night was a welcome change from the bustling inside, though she quietly wished she'd brought a coat as the evening air nipped at her exposed skin.
Some commotion off to the side of the building caught her attention and a familiar figure forced her to do a double take. He stood off to the side, observing the caterers packing up their truck. She approached slowly, though her heels clicked against the concrete. "So you really do exist," she teased. "I was starting to think maybe you were a phantom who only showed up when I was summoned."
