Ha! I knew they were making Rebecca more sympathetic so that one of the cast could delve into the grey zone by offing her or the like. So glad it’s Elena. It high time she got off her high horse a little. Because, at least for me, shows like these - it’s never really about the killing of the innocent ransoms. It’s about the betraying or killing of people you know/love/trust. After all, murders are glossed over or forgiven when they’re the randoms (except for in concept as an impetus for guilt by the killer).

Also part of the reason I think I’m not so phased by ebil!Stefan. Who kind of amuses me.

Oh did I mention how much I like Bonnie’s response to Elena about not being able to talk to her about Jeremy? And I see they’re drawing family ties similarities all over the place, like Stefan/Damon, Rebecca/Claus.

Super cute pillow talk paving the way for Damon/Elena fans. But aside from the shipperiness of it, it actually does make sense that Damon would pull him back. If not the the exact same pious broody guy, but maybe to some more human aspect of himself.

This whole turning on/off the humanity thing is really interesting to me. Especially because there was that scene earlier where someone, I forget who, mentions that it doesn’t really work, once you get past being a new vampire. Anyhow more on that later.
