Title: Curious Behavior Featuring: Paralipsis
Observations into noted behaviors by {REDACTED} Topic of Conversation: LT-2; Unit Designation Paralipsis
OBSERVATION ON BEHAVIORS OF LT-2 AND TITAN
Interactions between LT-2 and the Titan are unremarkable on the surface and from a mere passing glance.
They have not said a single word to each other despite proximity and being in the same room for hours at a time. No freak out or fits. No outbursts or any indication of something being wrong, just a strange staring contest.
Unusual given the Titan's usual acknowledgement of other units, especially when one of them is staring at him uninterrupted. Both of them stare though, for long periods of time, like there is a conversation going on that no one can hear or see other than the contact. One without body language or words, communicated in absolute silence.
Paralipsis has been approached and asked about the behavior and the unit, at first, expresses an honest confusion that people find it odd. When pressed, after some initial uncertainty, a small bit of twitching, and long silent, LT-2 merely stated that "It is considered weird to talk to yourself out loud".
Unit did not elaborate on this comment. Weeks later, Paralipsis would retract this statement as just trying to freak out the chief engineer and crew that something weird was going on and expressed just not having anything to say to the Titan and the feelings were mutual.
The Titan would confirm he didn't care for the staring but it was harmless enough and sort of amusing. After that, it was noted they stopped the long staring when others were around, becoming far more discrete. There was clearly attempts to keep the staring shorter and act more natural and a more noted awareness of being observed.
.One of the engineer staffs made a joking comment to the extent that the Titan and him are speaking in their minds.
Paralipsis made the comment back, "He's not the only one talking." After this, LT-2 began to proceed into a significant fit and had to be given a discharge of electricity to stabilize. LT-2 then stated the comment was made as a joke to freak out the engineer crew. The Titan, when approached brushed it off pointing out Paralipsis's habit of making comments on purpose to freak others out.
However, I am not entirely convinced the Titan is being truthful. There are tells. The Titan has a usual hesitancy to answers that is only a few seconds. When questions about the staring, the comments, and other oddities, there is a much longer period of silent and consideration. Answers are short, vague, and have all the hallmarks of the Titan knowing a lot more about what is going on than he is admitting.
Paralipsis is no longer cooperating with interviews and has made no further comments. The Titan is not being forthcoming with details. The two both know something that they aren't saying. There is a connection, but no theories really explain everything.
The chief engineer will probably throw a fit, but I've been perhaps intruding on the Titan's privacy by monitoring closely processor activity without expressed permission and have noted unusually high levels of activity and activity that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Like something...is being passed on wavelengths we have yet to fully understand. I feel we might have touched on something that isn't fully explored.
Something is going on and solving what that is is the very crux of everything, of the fits LT-2 experiences, of the Titan's silence, of the fact none of this is normal and both act as if it isn't something to notice. I know the chief engineer has their theories and the head of the faction has theirs....
but... my own...
what happens at the brink of death, when the fear of mortality settles in...
I think the Titan knows.
And whatever came from it, he doesn't want anyone else to know.
