My design/hc for Dolly’s bio-mom and Doug’s ex-wife. She’s also Delgato’s mother and a few of the semi-canon pups.
Her names Dexta Decimal, and she’s not a nice person

Like Dandy (Delilah’s ex-bf), she had a human, a wealthy one. A very old human who was still alive to take care of her when she met Doug, a scrappy fire-dog. (I hc that he used to live in New York bc of the 101 ds fic “Not so Black and White”) She liked the attention he gave her, so she kept him around and very soon had her first litter of pups, and that’s when the red flags started.
Dexta’s human died shortly after having her pups so she moved in with Doug, who sadly couldn’t be there due to work all the time leaving Dexta to have to tend to the house, she did not like that. So she neglected house chores, and later on when finding out one of her pups was deaf (Dinga), she neglected the pup.
Yeah and she took her frustrations of losing her servant human and dealing with pups on Doug, and even had another litter to make sure that he stuck around since she noted how much Doug cared for the pups, even the deaf Dinga.
Well that litter had a few healthier pups, but also Delgato who didn’t have hind legs, and a few runts. At this point in time she had gotten rather unbearable, got sick of Doug, and left one day, taking the “healthy” pups of her second litter with her and abandoning the rest.
This broke Doug, and he moved to Camden scared that she’d come back and take away more of his pups. Luckily Delgato and his remaining littermates were a few weeks old and don’t remember Dexta at all, but Dolly and her littermates did. And the damage was done, especially for Dolly, who started to resent humans in general because of her mother’s obsession with having one and being the reason why her mom left, even though her bio-mom wasn’t that great, Dolly still loves her a little.
Yeah, sad ending : (. I based Dexta’s design off of Dolly’s “Camilla” look in “My Fair Dolly.”

Her personality is a lot of Clarissa’s negative traits, selfish, snobby, thinks low of others, but is cunning and manipulative since she was able to keep Doug around so long.
Everytime I see a post about mask mandates with no exemptions and vaccine mandates with no exemptions I remember that albiesm is still well and alive in America. In fact, it's popular and growing.

Alright, time for the big man!

To me, there are several factors that made Gorgeous into the man he is today.
He didn't have the same kind of rough upbringing Mind did... but it was none-the-less something that left its marks.
Gorgeous is selectively mute & actually prefers ASL over using verbal words.
And that on its own was already hard to grow up with, especially with teachers who had no patience for him either signing too slow or too fast (when he was excited over something)...
So in the end, he just stuck with speaking short sentences in general. It's as far as he'll go for the convenience of others.
To folks who don't know he's selectively mute, this does read as him just being rude & being short-spoken to just be a dick. ...which to be fair, sometimes that's actually the case.
Aside from that... he had the unfortunate thing to deal with, where things like "don't touch that, that's for girls" got ingrained into his brain very early on.
He was stuck with a major case of toxic masculinity for a long time... but he unlearned a good chunk of it over time-
(shout-out to his twin sister Dazzling (or “Dazz” for short) for talking sense into him, eventually his classmates in the gender studies at MIT as well, him doing some serious soul-searching on his own, and of course Beauty)
Now... aside from that... he carries serious PTSD from the Resonance Cascade with him. Being reminded of it triggers a violent dissociative state that takes him literal minutes to get out of.
And that... leads to the final big issue he has. If having that dissociative state wasn't already enough on its own... he's also painfully aware of how his heightened strength can do so much more damage than "normal" people could.
He hates getting close to people because he's afraid he'll hurt them... and he can't handle the thought of seriously injuring someone he actually cares about.
So, in the end... all I can say is: Someone hug this big doofus. He's trying his best.

there was a 6 year old black girl who has ADHD who was literally taken out of school, put in the back of a cop car and held in a mental health facility for over 48 hours without her mother for being ‘distruptive’ and ‘destroying property’ while at school.... I’m speechless
