It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s JONATHAN KENT/SUPERBOY, a HERO from DC! HE is 21 years old and looks an awful lot like ASA BUTTERFIELD. I hear they are employed as a COLLEGE STUDENT. Rumor has it they are UNAFFILIATED. I wonder what they’ll find with their new beginning!
hi pals it’s me back at it with a dc muse (unheard of, i know)! jon will have a real full bio up eventually, but for now, i’ve got some info below the cut. let me know if you want to plot, and i’ll come to you! (starter memes also to come soon)
jon kent is the son of lois lane & clark kent -- half-human, half-kryptonian, which one one was really sure was going to work, but here we are!
for the first several years of his life, the kents lived on a farm in hamilton county, kansas, where they pretended they were a perfectly ordinary family, not at all superpowered, thank you very much
jon started developing his powers young, one by one, and not entirely stable, and none of them really knew what a kryptonian-human hybrid was going to turn out to be, but they loved and supported him all the same because lois & clark are the best parents in all of comics fight me
HOWEVER, for most of his childhood, they forbade jon from using his powers, and tried to give him as normal a childhood as possible (except, of course, for when he followed his dad around on justice league business trips, but those were the exception)
when he was ten years old, jon and his best friend, damian wayne (yes, that wayne), teamed up to form the supersons! somehow, they got their dads’ blessings, and a sick underwater fortress, to boot. clark and bruce probably thought it was endearing or a good learning experience or something, and began to loosen the leash on the kids, so long as they were doing good and being safe and were home before curfew
it was during this time that jon became superboy proper, though he was always superman’s little son and the teen titans’ kid brother (it didn’t matter that he wanted to join, and that he was the best they had, or that he could fly; he was always too young)
eventually, the kents moved back to the city, and jon adapted to skyscrapers and starless nights, but he never stopped missing the farm
fortunately, superboy wasn’t a kansas-specific gig!
when he was fifteen, he took a parental-approved summer research trip to space with some long-lost family
unfortunately, the summer didn’t go as planned: it took jon nearly six years to find his way home, but when he got back, only three weeks had passed
so
yes i know this is a really bullshit storyline bendis pulled but it gives me a chance to make people sad so i’m contractually obligated to use it
he’s spent a little time catching up on the whole being sort-of-an-adult-now thing, and is trying to start college and find whatever chance at a normal life he might still have left
