Open Roleplay - A New Handler

[feel free to join as a hydra agent coming to make val's life worse, someone undercover trying to recuse her, or a secret third thing!!] [cw this one plays pretty heavily on val dehumanisation and kinda her relationship to her handler cause i saw whump prompts and now I feel like it :)]

It wasn't entirely unusual for an asset to be leant out to a non-Hydra client. Never someone Hydra hadn't thoroughly vetted, of course, to make sure their ideals and goals aligned, but still. Someone outside the organisation nonetheless.

Valerie stood next to her Handler, silent, still. She barely registered that the conversation was about her, laying out terms, rules. She knew it, in some distant way, but it didn't really register. She had no say in what happened to her, after all. She would return to Hydra - to her Handler - no matter the mission. She didn't need to listen. She didn't get a say. She It was only a tool for Hydra anyway.

"So," Williams, Handler, says. "I can give it to you for.. two weeks, for a price."

The whole ‘secret meeting, come unarmed’ trope but with a living weapon. As soon as the team arrives, they’re searched heavily for weapons, and living weapon is escorted out of the room with all the other contraband found.

Living weapon being kept in a bland, locked room whilst the team discuss plans and the possibility of a truce with their enemy, unable to know how it’s going or if their team is safe.

Bonus points if this is post-whump where living weapon is recovering with the team. I imagine them being treated like any other gun or blade would be pretty harmful to the recovery stage.

living weapon whumpee blinks awake to feel warmth on their hands. there's blood. they are sitting in the guts of the enemy.

a cold chill shudders down their spine as they desperately try to wrack their brains for any memory of killing their target. nothing comes up.

this is the fifth time, they think, wrapping their gear up methodically. handler will be checking in anytime soon. they can't— can't stop. dread skitters throughout the entirety of them. what is happening to them?

they don't know if they want to know. everytime they— blank out, the scene that greets them is— it's gruesome. it's horrid. horrible. cleanup is a bitch.

and they know that they can't let anyone know. they'll be deactivated, if they do. faulty weapons are nothing but liabilities, after all. would you want a gun that might not shoot when it must? or worse: if it goes off randomly?

no, they think, panic brimming beneath their skin. if they can't even trust their memories, their mind, then what's left?

someone saying 'these two are both inhuman creatures, but this one is more attractive than the other, while this one threw away its attractiveness that should have served me' should fill you with fear for both sides, and not make you think the one deemed less attractive has it easier

Whumpee freezes, painfully aware of their mistake. "I - I'm sorry," they choke out. "I'm so sorry, [Master/Mistress]-"

"Oh no, no, love, it's not your fault! I'm sorry!" Whumper's voice is saccharine, but their next words send a chill through Whumpee. "I just haven't trained you well enough - yet."

Do you guys ever think about the process of dismantling Phone Guys and how utterly vile and dehumanising the very idea of it is : literally putting down people like dogs after depriving them of their dignity and identity, forcing them into a lifetime of abuse from their leaders and customers alike.

Something I’ve noticed is that syscringe is constantly weird surrounding any alter that uses it/its pronouns. Either fakeclaiming them outright or just going “that’s cringe”. They’re always like “oh those pronouns sound dehumanising” and “I wouldn’t want those pronouns used for me.” Like ok, that’s fine if you don’t want those pronouns used for you but maybe take a minute to think about why alters might use it/its pronouns.

One example that is very clear to me is that the alter might hold some form of dehumanisation trauma. They may feel so subhuman that they feel they should be referred to as no more than an “it”, an object not a human. Or them using those pronouns could be them reclaiming what was once used against them. Either way, there is the link to trauma there.

Obviously they’re pronouns, you can use them even if you haven’t gone through that shit but I’m just trying to provide a logical explanation to their illogical fakeclaiming.
