How did the Creek come about?
Creek came after "Tweek vs. Craig" (episode 304) aired on June 23, 1999, about 20 years ago. Pairing became more popular in 2006 and its popularity has grown steadily, mainly due to the breadth of fan content, many long fanfictions and fanart, which has gradually led to the development of "Gang Craig" in the fandom. This pairing was considered a fan-favorite crack couple even among its most ardent supporters. The Creek was one of the most popular ships in South Park.
The 19th season episode would not have come into being if it weren't for Jason Schweder, producer of “South park: The Fracture but Whole”. Told in Game Informer, it was he who introduced Matt and Trey to the fan art of Craig and Tweek.
They have a development, because they often flashed together in the background. In the game, they broke up shortly before the events of the game, but we need to measure them, for this we get their ult, also during the game they comment on each other, criticizing the techniques and skills they possess. Also after their ult, they compliment each other and flirt.
In “South park: Phone Destroyed”, there are various cards related to Creek, but they were given special attention in the theme of mysticism (Imp-Tweek and Pastor Craig) This AU is quite popular with creek fans, but rather infamous. Where Tweek dominates is called “Twaig”. In the Season 19 DVD and Bluray commentary, Trey and Matt mention them as a homo couple, and Trey says he's especially excited for their future.
On Tumblr, responding to reports of the photo, in which Kyle said, "But the thing is, there's nothing about it that would mean Tweek and Craig are actually gay."
The South park Digital blog responded, “Are you sure?” indicating that they really do feel something for each other. And the blog also posted a “Tweek x Craig” gif and tagged it “Creek canon”.
