Twilight was a series about two co-dependent abusive stalkers who treated everyone around them like pawns, walked around thinking that they were better than everyone else and never changed in the course of four books.

I'm not here for this myopic retroactive 'maybe Twilight wasn't bad' bullshit. It is a toxic series with no redeeming qualities, with terrible messages like 'Change everything about yourself to keep your man' and 'Unless you are perfect, hate yourself'. Its author commits literary sadism on most of her own characters because at its heart, Twilight is an extremely personal revenge-fic based on how Meyer thinks her high school life should have gone and what her life should have been afterwards.

Twilight is fucking garbage. Fucking fight me on this.

Again, the article misses a fundamental issue that most feminists take with earlier narratives, for instance Twilight. The problem with Twilight isn’t that Bella is immature, self-indulgent and prone to bad decision making, it’s that within the course of the narrative, not only is this behavior romanticized, it is never challenged. Bella’s immaturity is continually reinforced by the tone and action of the narrative.

oh man i remember back in 2007 we still didn't know who would be playing edward cullen and i decided that robert pattinson should play him (idek why I came to that conclusion in the first place)

and then he was actually cast

i got my dream actor to play the role and he's pretty much perfect as edward cullen. except for the part where the makeup department decided that vampires would be made as gross looking as possible
