THE CHAOS OF STUDYING FOR AN ADVANCED FUNCTIONS EXAM
Welcome to my newest hyperfixation, Les Misérables. My school just finished its production of the musical (I think we did pretty incredible) and I played Jean "Jehan" Prouvaire.
Cut to myself, and my friends who played Grantaire (@peachfiend), Gavroche, and Feuilly may have started to go a little insane over writing fanfiction for a modern au.
Anywho, here's modern au Jehan who is very much dating Feuilly and Bahorel. He/they gender fluid. Terrible ass fashion sense.
Me too buddy. Me too.
I may have lost access to one of my art files

The Shim Sham is cool and weird and cool
Context: did ya'll know I've been tap dancing since I was 6? Well, I have! I've got over a decade of tap and jazz training, and I can do some pretty impressive stuff.
The Shim Sham -- for those who don't know -- is a choreographed dance that every honest tap dancer should know. I know it. I haven't done it authentically in tap shoes for a hot min, but it's in there.
I aged out of the dance program last summer, and since have been living my dream of FINALLY TAKING SWING CLASSES. I frickin' love Lindy Hop. It's great. I went to a swing dance night last Saturday (they happen every saturday in my city but it's $15 a night and I'm poooorrrr), and guess what they all hopped up and did after the first band break!
THE SHIM SHAM
At first I was like, "Okay I'm gonna hang back cuz this is a thing that they all know and I don't know it." and then I saw someone do a tacky annie and I went "WAIT A SECOND". At the time I couldn't remember the name of the shim sham and I'm crying about it now but I looked it up today and man swing dancers got wild with it.
The steps are majorly the same, but they repeat it twice, have an extra third verse, and then swing for the rest of it. What was really throwing me off are the steps are so slightly off because your not focused on making all the extra sounds with the taps.
Regardless, I now know how to do the swing version of the shim sham. I'm prepared. Shim Sham is peak.
