Throwback Tom Tweets: 17th January 2014
Did someone mention hot buttered toast?
what happened to tom to make him stop using twitter? u wrote in your tags that is bat-shit so called 'fans' happened... what did they do???
Oh man, anon, that is just a novel length series of embarrassingly cringeworthy events.
To put it in a very, very quick way: his ‘fans’ were pretty belligerent, rude, stalkery, and all about cruel. A couple of instances were where a fake account for Thor: The Dark World popped up and pretended to say that Tom would be sharing something exclusive or whatever from the set of the movie. When t hat didn’t happen he got yelled at, death threats, the whole gamut. All for something he didn’t do, wasn’t responsible for, or had to even address.
Another one was where there was a fake account created of the young actor who played young Loki in the first Thor film. Tom thought that was legit.
And another time there was two insane people pretending to be stylists or make-up artists or something, I can’t remember exactly, from Thor or Avengers (again I can’t remember) and they legit tried to arrange a lunch date or whatever with him.
Also theres the whole thing where if he was/is even seen with a woman or even suspected of dating someone the whole arsenal of butthurt ‘fans’ come out screaming very rude, disrespectful, and horrible things about him and whoever the female is who is associated with him. There was this one friend of his (I forget her name) that he was seen with several times at events and they had been friends for years. Were they dating? No one really knows, but they were close. Anyway, she got so much hate on her twitter account because of it she left.
So honestly while I do believe what he said that he is better not being distracted by twitter I also think that events like those and the general shittyness of his ‘fandom’ crossed the line very far and are another big piece of why he’s staying away. You can’t blame him at all.
