Two Row Treaty Turns 406 Years! I had the good fortune of seeing my comrades Gil Lopez & Andi Feron (not pictured) this past Sunday at the Bear Mountain pow wow, and learned of their multi-day 11-person canoe journey embarking from Bear Mountain, heading down the Hudson, and arriving at New Amsterdam to uphold the two row treaty. Two days from now their efforts culminate in front of the United Nations for August 9 International Indigenous Peoples Day. There is much more for me to learn of the Two Row Treaty and much much more to be said of it. However, I can say that we newcomers to Turtle Island have a very real part in correcting and continuing our path to that of autonomy and harmony with indigenous traditions. Please join us August 9 at 8:30am across from the United Nations to commemorate the treaty and celebrate the International recognition of Indigenous Peoples. 🙏 #tworowwampum #tworowtreaty #indigenousrecognition (at Bear Mountain State Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/B03ijfSAYL0/?igshid=pbpvk8gn6tpm
