Uhhhhh…I was going to make a meme about how Riddle should not be taking cooking advice from Lilia because obviously BANANAS should not go in SOUP with CHILI POWDER but…apparently it exists…

Jamil’s birthday snack features Kahk, a butter biscuit popular in the Middle East especially during the post-Ramadan feast (Eid al-Fitr).

Part 2 of the Twisted Wonderland Cookbook

Dandelion greens are a fave snack of mine so I jumped at the chance to make some. Some people cook the flower heads too but regardless, the greens are great for the liver and have vitamin A, C, E, and  and other minerals. You can buy the greens or be like me and just....go outside...your home....and pick some.........(and hope nobody sees you). If grabbing from outside, try to pick less trampled/pesticide treated areas, and pull the whole rosette. Cut off the stems above the rosette root (pinkish/whitish area) and wipe off dirt before soaking.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go feed Ojitan~

Did you enjoy the Dorm Sorting Quiz? Do you like sweets? Then this SSR super recipe is just for you! Take a bite out of these Mirror of Darkness cookies and see which dorm you're sorted to~

A word of advice: You can go fortune cookie style and just write down each dorm name on a piece of paper OR use 7 different colored sprinkles. IF you go with the sprinkles option, you will suffer if you decide to be cheap and buy a mixed bag and try to sort out every color yourself....by hand........

Cookies with Candied Violets! Or in my case, a mix of violets (the large purple ones) with fresh edible flowers.  For those interested in making candied flowers from scratch, read under the cut :)

Ingredients:

Violet flowers (with stems attached)

Make sure to buy ones that are edible safe (not from the florist section at a grocery store since those could be chemical treated)

1 1/2 cup water

1 cup granulated sugar

Caster/fine sugar (to dust)

Optional: 1/4 tsp almond extract or 1 tsp rosewater

Sieve, Water Spray, Paper Towel, Pot, Tweezers, Wax Paper, Scissors

Directions:

In a sieve, gently wash flowers w/ a spray

Spread flowers on paper towel to dry

Heat sugar & water until dissolved. If using the almond extract/rosewater, add to this mixture

Using tweezers, dip each flower into sugar mixture 

Dust with the caster/fine sugar. Make sure flowers are completely covered.

Cut stems off with scissors

Let flowers cool and dry on wax paper

It’s Pear Compote time! This treat seems perfect to enjoy in the winter time in front of a fireplace, with a window looking out at snow covered trees~

The 2nd picture I tried making some of the foods pictured in the Savanaclaw birthday background (roast beef, couscous, maakoudas, okra/plantain stew)
