TX Frightmare Weekend Day 3: Me and Sean Patrick Flanery.
I was so happy that I got to meet Sean for a third time this weekend. On Friday I was supposed to leave town earlier, but I forgot the directions to the con. When I arrived I ran to the registration booth to pick up my tickets then I ran to go scope the con and see who was sitting where. I ran to the restroom to go wash my hands before I shook anyone's hands and as I walked in Flanery and Sean Clark were both in the restroom. I said "Hey Sean," leaving it open to either to say hi, but Flanery's eyes widened and said, "Hey Albert! No, Arthur, no..." I replied, "You had it right the first time." He then asked me how I was and Clark was like, "Oh, I remember you from Austin." Flanery looks at him and says, "Yeah, but he's from Houston." As they left Clark noticed my Dexter shirt and he's like, "He's wearing a Dexter shirt." Flanery saw it and he let out a big, "FUCK YEAH!" The next day Jen and I went to his table to pick up Brit's Devlin cub and Jen showed him her photo op and he signed it for her. I took a photo of him hugging her and it's the cutest photo ever. He looks like he's into the hug. So fast forward to yesterday I got in line w/ Debbie and Michele to take their photos and my sister asked Sean to autograph my BDS II film cover. When he said he'd do it, he signed Debbie's BDS cover, but he accidentally made it out to me instead of her. We freaked out and he said, "We can fix this." Sean got creative and drew a heart on my name and covered it and in silver and wrote her name in black so he mended it. After I took my photo Sean said, "Hey man, I love your shirt." (I have come to the conclusion that Flanery has an affinity for my tshirts.) I said, "Thanks, man! Hey, it was great to see you again. Thank you so much," and he said, "It was great seeing you again. Take care, Albert."
I got home at around 7 and I haven't been able to fall from cloud 9 at all. Sean made this weekend something special for me. The fact that he remembered me at all made it so surreal. Sean's heart is just made of pure gold. He's so involved with each fan and he loves getting to know each individual. Sean really inspires people to do better. Not just for others, but for themselves. He really makes you gain a sense of self respect. Sean is a true gem, people. I wish everyone could meet this man and experience what I have experienced. I have learned so much from him in the last year through his blogs and I look forward to learning more about the key to living a better life. I would also like to add that Sean tweeting me and DM'ing me on Twitter has kept me smiling from ear to ear and crying occasionally in a corner.
