Ty and Parker hadn’t really gotten to finish their conversation at the lake party, since the whole tentacle thing happened, but Ty was determined to talk more about it. The other’s confession had completely floored him, especially since he’d never said anything.

“How come you never said anything?” he asked after a small pause.

“Not to sound...weird, but, have you seen a girl about 5′2″ and looking a little dazed wandering around? My sister got out and she’s not...she’s not well.”

Ty’s eyes widened when he saw who he’d just pancaked. “Parker?!” He sat up, pulling Parker up with him, to wrap his arms around them in a tight hug. “You have no idea how horrible it’s been. We were searching and searching for you. I was so scared you were dead.” He leaned back, still holding onto Parker’s shoulders. “I can’t believe I just ran into you like this after all these years.”

Today was the day, Ty was determined. He was finally gonna tell Parker how he felt. It had been weighing on his mind since the geyser. The thought of possibly losing Parker again had been terrifying. While he'd been calm on the outside, figuring out a solution and getting Parker safely to the Commune, inside he'd been scared as hell.

This town had had so many disasters, even now he was a bit nervous being at the lake with a portal beneath it. Reaching for Parker's hand, he gave it a squeeze. "Hey, can I talk to you about something? It's important."

“Oh my gosh, are you okay?! Oh, duh, obviously not, but, um! Don’t worry, I know First Aid,” Ty said quickly, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a handkerchief. He wrapped it around her hand tightly to stop the bleeding, tying it off with a knot. “Here, let me help you up.” He took her elbow and helped her stand.

Ty had never been the most coordinated person. He rode the bench most of high school while on the football team because while he was fast, he could never seem to catch the ball.

Being fast helped in snowball fights, though. He dodged and ducked and ran and hid. He couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, but if he dodged long enough, he figured he’d be the last one standing.

But then his foot hit a patch of ice, and he went slipping and sliding out onto the ice. Arms flailing, he yelled for people to get out of the way as he tripped and scrambled, until he collided with someone and they both fell.

“Shit shit shit, I’m so sorry! Are you okay??”
