The Modern American Political Spectrum: Your Manager
Types of Managers
There's a few different types of managers I work with. So here's a list!
I'm not that good with fanfare.
Type I: The Strict
These managers are very by the book, all the rules (even the silly ones or ones that don't make sense), and expect people to work like clockwork and don't treat employees very well.
One glaring fact about them is that while they expect their employees to be perfect, it's never their fault that they're being slow, or we're waiting on them for something.
Type II: The Unremarkable
These managers are...unremarkable. Generally they're nice, and they're just there to get the job done. They're basically regular employees with some extra responsibilities.
Type III: The Nice Slackers
These managers are nice. You like them as a person. They're easy to talk to, and if you were off the clock you could probably be friends with them. They'll give a large soda when you ordered the small, put bacon on your sandwich without you having the pay, and make sure you get your breaks.
But then they don't do their jobs a lot of the time. They pass it on to other managers, or just don't do them. These types of managers are nice to be working with when it's slow and one doesn't have much to do in the store, but when shit needs to be done...
Type IV: The Perfect
I've seen, maybe, two or three of these managers before. These are the best managers. They have the good aspects of Type III, while also getting stuff done and making sure everything's taken care of. They're the managers you love seeing on shift when you clock in.
And as a final note, it's odd that I haven't actually encountered any managers who are both strict with the employees but are also lazy and don't do anything.
So that's one good thing.
