It’s been about 36 hours since the system started failing, and no matter what was tried, it hadn’t been enough to fix the problem. Thing is, this ship, no matter how big or important it is, still lacked a resourceful engineer. Xedrik was talented with high technologies but definitely wasn’t well versed in fleet ship engineering to know where the problem came from. He did try and figured out the general ‘problematic’ area, but to fix it, Kyolin needed to bring someone with a decent amount of knowledge. Even Stevix, who was a great mechanic, couldn’t fix something like that.
So, left without options, they had no choice but to call for help. Of course, Xedrik had been instructed to lead the guy through several floors and machinery rooms as he was one of the only members of this crew who had the right of passage in those areas. A question of safety, he assumed, even though he would have preferred to go off ship. The blueblood didn’t particularly enjoy being left to toast in those engine rooms, stuck with a dude he knew nothing about. But, his captain asked, and because of that, he couldn’t just leave the ship. Despite being an official fleet engineer, Kyolin didn’t trust anybody with the safety of his ship. And so, even as the guy worked, Xedrik would have to be there and watch him like a hawk.
As soon as the official engineer appearified on the ship, Xedrik welcomed him. He leaned against the doorframe of the transportalizing room, arms crossed on his chest.
“So, you’re the guy who’s gonna save the night.”There wasn’t any hostility in his tone, nor did he sound very welcoming for someone who was in dire need of help. “Let’s get to it. This place’s getting hotter by the second.” Xedrik’s voice was low and hoarse, probably due to the heat. His body was covered in a sheen layer of sweat and he’d definitely switched his military outfit for something a little more casual.
“I’m gonna bring you to the source of the problem.” Blue eyes narrowed on the tyrian. It was rare for Xedrik to be in contact with seadwellers who were higher than Kyolin’s on the hemocaste. Not that he was going to lick the guy’s boots for that, but he now understood why Kyolin didn’t want to bother with the man himself.

Mushroom Food
This was not what Mycili had planned for the day. To be fair, they mostly had planned on just admiring mushrooms, so not much was being put on hold. But still, to have to deal with another troll was something they much preferred to know of far in advance so they could prepare ways to get them to go away as soon as possible.
They could hardly turn down this customer though. Certain fungi only thrived on decaying trolls, and the cities had not been very helpful with this. How dare those people not die enough. Even worse, Mycili knew it would make the most sense to convince them to always bring their bodies to them... which meant more time around another living troll. They sat inside their hive, mask drawn up fully, already grumbling about what was to come.
