A real damage vs control fight there, though I think Gamrot did more than others who are in similar situations. I think it was Fight Site guy Ryan Wagner who pointed this out but Gamrot is just not a control guy. He’s a transition guy. He thrives in starting grappling exchanges and beating people up in the chaos. Not in holding guys down. But he really wants to hold guys down. So you get guys who are big, long, strong and hard to control like Turner who are able to repeatedly build their bases to stand up when Gamrot takes them down. And props to Turner who was landing super well on the feet. Hurt Gamrot a few times per round it seems like. But Gamrot’s spam wrestling won it out for him in the end.
