As a Martial Law baby, I am from a generation of Filipinos who grew up watching super robots. The first of these was #MazingerZ, created by the genius that is #GoNagai. 🤖 Count this as one of my earliest exposures to anime together with Voltes V, Daimos, Mekanda Robo, and fellow Nagai creations #UFOGrendizer and #GetterRobo. The catchy theme by #IchirouMizuki only made the experience richer. 🎶 Flash forward over 40 years later and a personal friend of mine, @_the.looking.glass, WROTE A BOOK on Mazinger and Nagai. 🤯 He even mentioned me in his acknowledgements when all we really did was talk about our love for super robots and anime.
