talking on the phone with someone you love until you fall asleep is nice, but have you ever been on the phone with someone you love until THEY fall asleep? that shit is so incredibly underrated.
like the progression of their voice alone? how you can start to hear the sleepiness in the grogginess of their voice? to die for.
or like, the way it'll start as a conversation but they're falling asleep so you just get the occasional laugh or "uh huh". and like, you have to check to make sure they're still awake, and they grunt at you a bit. heart melting.
and then when they finally are asleep and you can just hear their steady breaths on the other line, and you can't help but listen for a minute before hanging up. beautiful.
honestly, it's such a good feeling and i wish i could bottle it up and save it for a rainy day.
