Alola wasn't the Pokemon world's first Hawaiian themed region. There was first the Oblivia region which also featured many islands with a lot of tropical themes and had you partner with a ukulele playing Pichu. It was a missed opportunity to not have Pichu's final smash be Ukulele Pichu's Pokemon Ranger assist. It would have been a nice callback to the series and have it not be a clone of Pikachu's final smash.
