I enjoy surprise trading for dex fulfillment, sometimes this turns into me getting hoards and hoards of those website shinies.

And I don’t want to trade them back out into the world because obvious reasons- normally any hacked pokemon you get of your own choice or someone else’s you don’t want to put online. And I don’t have the heart to release them.

My favorite shiny pokemon is shiny gardevoir because on sun and moon a real person traded me their real shiny gardevoir and all I could feel past my surprise was a deep sorrow that this gardevoir with a champion ribbon from two other regions has been sent to me, a total stranger, when gardevoirs form such strong bonds with their trainers- she was tossed to me. A nobody on the other side of the world who never watched her grow the way her last trainer did.

I wondered if she’d miss the past trainer.

I wondered what I had to do to make it up to her.

So I brought her up to every new game and keep her on my team even now.

So when I get hacked pokemon in surprise trades I just let them live in quiet solitude in the safety of my boxes. I pity the permanent branding put on their names.
