Celestia’s fondness of silence allowed her to undergo various respites from society without falling into depression. As if she was the centerpiece of a snowglobe, there was a sound-proof barrier that she raised whenever she craved a lonely night of reading a favorite book. Perhaps it was a defense mechanism as well, ceasing any possibility of becoming attached to her classmates. She couldn’t, no matter what, see them as friends.
