A hindrance to the family’s good name, the unwanted second son... well, isn’t that familiar?“ 

He was quiet for a moment, studying the face of the son he’d lost so long before. It made sense now, why the child had been so distant - he’d always thought himself blamed for his deformity, attributing it for a long time to his ability to change form. But if he’d heard everything that night... “But whatever it was, it surely wasn’t for your ears to hear.”

Eileithyia had just finished putting the horse she had borrowed to go riding with her siblings, exploring around Asgard, back into it’s stable. When, Vali appeared out of nowhere, confessing his feelings towards her, causing her to stand in shock, the teenage goddess turns to face him. Words coming out of her mouth before she even has second to process what she had said. “Wait, what?”

“Vali!” Torunn coughs, trying to catch his attention, all the whilst trying her damn hardest not to cry out in pain as she is fairly certain that her ribs arms broken, causing an incredibly sharp stabbing pain every time she takes a breath. The young princess reaches to grab his shoulders to steady not only him but herself. 

“Vali, it’s over... You can stop.” She says softly to him, hoping it will help to calm him down and stop the now blizzard that was covering the once battle field which is now turned to carnage and rubble. The last thing they needed was more death to be surrounding them. “We’ve won, you can... You can stop now.”

He was caught off guard, words he never really heard from another outside of the Ten Rings. Not to mention he didn’t feel like he did enough to be granted that title. Sure he’s been more friendly, which is basically less glares and a less harsh tone to his words, to the other but was that enough? Maybe for him if Andrei was the first friend he’d ever had. It made his brow furrow a bit, more of slightly confusion and not a glare. He let himself fully process the words before giving a small tilt of his head. “You aren’t serious, are you?” He questions, trust barely there as it was earned over time. Taking someone’s words by face value took trust and he had issues with that no matter who they were from. Of course he could count on his hand on who’s words he would take with no question and he was not on that list. So he felt it best to question, observe, see what the other would do when faced with his disbelief.
