The Philadelphia forecast is calling for our first snow of the season. We know that means it could be anything from drizzle or flurries to a downpour or blizzard. What we do know for sure is that there will be weather. Hassler’s umbrellas will at least keep your head dry.

We can relate to the scene depicted on this circa 1883 trade card as we experience another rainy day here in Philadelphia. Sometimes, even the biggest umbrella can’t keep the rain off! Hope you’re staying dry out there...

This photo was taken by William Herman Rau on October 4, 1906 and shows umbrella-holding spectators who had gathered to watch and listen to the speeches of President Theodore Roosevelt, Governor Samuel Whitaker Pennypacker and Governor William A. Stone at the dedication ceremony of the Pennsylvania Capitol building in Harrisburg, PA.
