Chapter 43b - She will never let go when she has you.

Episode 2.

The living room fell quiet for a moment, while everyone tried to process and figure what to do next

James: I'll go have a chat with him he spoke in a warm uplifting tone, as he finally broke the silence

Malou: It's quite slippery outside

Raven: I'll go with him just in case he smiled softly at her

James: Nonsense! I think it's best I talk with him alone, that would leave you standing alone in the snow for God knows how long. You'd be freezing blue in no time.

Raven: He shook his head lightly and walked to the door I rarely ever freeze he winked at Malou and Adrian beside, I'm not going to change my mind, so I'll follow whether you like it or not.

James: He chuckled amused Alright alright, best get it overwhith then, shall we?

As the others left, Una was quick to get the last two back to the couch with her

Malou: Does anyone want a beer or some wine?

Una: She nodded confirming I think we could all 3 need a beer!

Dalton: He sighed heavy as he sat down on his white couch in his studio, elbows planted solid on his thighs, head burried in his hands

James: Son he sat down next to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders Why don't you tell me what's going on?

Dalton: She called again. She wants me back.

James: Well… you've already been down that road… too many times, if you ask me. I doubt this time the outcome will be any different.

Dalton: I know, dad.

James: I know you love her, but

Dalton: A soft grunt escaped him …. I'm not so sure anymore.

James: …. do YOU want her back?

Dalton: He sighed heavily I used to think I wanted…. but now I realise it's love and closeness I need…. and she can't give me that… at least not the way I need it…. that kind of love isn't found between her and I. I wonder if it ever was?

James: Years ago, when you started dating, I'm sure it was… but it's been clear that it hasn't been there for a long time.

Dalton: Clear to anyone but me…

James: Dalton he sighed soft I think it has been plenty clear to you, you just haven't wanted to admit it to yourself. Your heart hasn't wanted to let go. But I think you have to. Now more than ever. There's love all around you, waiting to be let in. He nodded at the ceiling I know she…. they…. might seem far away right now, but they aren't. All you have to do is open your heart, and allow them in… fully.

Dalton: I'm scared, dad… He sighed soft and lifted his head, looking up at his father I'm terrified of letting someone new in.

James: I know. But you have to. In order to heal. To move on. To get the love you deserve.

Dalton: He sighed deep and heavy No one should have to take me on, dad… it's a lot. All the work, I'm never home. I don't clean up after myself, I'm not the most romantic person, I'm quite frankly a slob, I sometimes don't shower for days, I barely bother to fix my hair, I forget things because I'm always distracted or I'm getting old

Raven: He snorted lightly from the chair he had taken seat on few meters away

Dalton: He looked at Raven with a soft frown What?

Raven: You're certainly not getting old, and even if you were, it doesn't have to be a negative thing. Many people like "old people". And I'm fairly sure Malou or anyone else for that matter doesn't find you old.

James: Is it the age gab you have a problem with? he looked at his son questioning

Dalton: No…. yes… I don't know?… No I don't… at all… but he sighed softly, his eyebrows lifing into a worried wrinkle I guess I'm worried she would have a problem with it… if not now, then down the line…

James: She seems like a wonderful girl, Dalton… and intelligent…. I'm sure she has already made more than plenty thoughts into the matter, and if she had an issue, I don't think she would be trying to reach out to you the way she does.

Dalton: He sighed softly

James: Could it be that you are simply grasping at straws, trying to come up with excuses not to start something new?

Dalton: ….. He sighed again

James: … you know I'm right, son. She's smart, beautiful, she seems to have a good sense of humor, you two actually seem a lot alike, she's quite obviously into you, though she seems to be scared too, at least she tries to be open about it, without forcing it onto you, letting it be up to you, she seems to get you, she seems willing to compromise, and shows interest in your wellbeing… she seems kind, considerate and creative… and willing to give up a lot for you… what more do you want?

Dalton: He weighed his dads words carefully, knowing he was all too right. She was "perfect"… which probably scared him even more What if she turns me down… or give up on me over time… I'm a lot of work… maintenance.

James: Not to the right person. And I think she very well could be. So what does stuff like age or brushed hair really matter?

Dalton: It matters to many people, dad.

James: …. perhaps… but to the right person YOU matter, the rest is secondary. And Malou seems to me, like a person who can handle unbrushed hair and what ever trail of mess you create.

Dalton: He sighed again but what if she can't… what if she leave as well?

James: Then you'll turn it into beautiful songs he smiled encouraging and padded his sons back but I have a very strong feeling she would never. I think this girl knows your soul, Dalton, and she knows very well your worth. If you place gold in her palms she would never let go… she will never let go when she has you. He paused a moment You have been starved for love for so long, Dalton, it's time to let someone new in, someone more like you. Someone with a similar energy…. vibe…. magic. And as far as I can read, from the very little access I have to her, she seems to be exactly that. He paused again, choosing his words carefully …. And to my understanding, she needs love as much as you do. I think you would compliment each other beautifully. You just gotta let the fear out, and let her in.

Una: She smiled a bit hesitating, yet warm He will be alright… he just needs a bit of time. I know he's not always the easiest, and he can be a bit thick-headed, but he's she sighed soft, her eyes sparkling lightly he's

Una: Her smile grew wider and proud as she nodded agreeing

It was a couple minutes later when Raven and James joined the others in the living room

Una: She looked hopeful at her husband How is he?

James: He forced a soft smile He just needs a bit of time alone. He has a lot of thinking to do. He smiled somewhat apologizing at everyone I think it's time for us to head home Una

Malou: Nonsense she stood up fast Let me help you to Dalton's room, there's a comfortable bed waiting for you guys, there's absolutely no reason for the two of you to head back into the cold. She quickly guided James towards the second floor staircase, nodding encouraging at Una Please, it's Christmas, and there's more than plenty room.

Raven: I think I will be heading home as well he smiled a bit out of place, and looked somewhat questioning at Adrian

Adrian: He frowned soft, understanding the hint, but also wanting to be there for Dalton in case

Raven: He waited a couple of seconds, then turned to face Malou and Dalton's parents, nodding politely It was nice to meet the two of you, I see where Dalton gets his charm from. He nodded once again Good night then he quickly headed to the front door, and out into the cold night

Adrian: He frowned deeper, hesitating a bit, then quickly stood up Malou… uh… a word please?

Malou: She nodded quick Go on she spoke soft to Dalton's parents I'll be with you in a couple minutes to help you get some towels and such. She turned to Adrian as the parents headed upstairs and looked at him with a soft frown What was that about?

Adrian: I don't know? he frowned softly and I can't decide if I should stay here for Dalton, or follow…

Malou: … well… James said he wants to be alone. I mean I will definitely check on him at some point, simply cause I worry… but… if both of us check on him, it might be a bit of a mouthful, if he doesn't really want company to begin with? She sighed softly I hate to push you aside Adrian cause I think you have just as much right to be there for him as I have, but right now I really need to-

Adrian: It's fine. I mean it he forced a soft smile right now I feel like I really have to go after Raven, so you simply made it less difficult to do so. Thank you. He looked at the stairs a bit contemplating, then back at her And you'll be okay here with he pointed upstairs

Malou: …. awkward, but okay, yes she snorted it's fine, don't worry about me, I'll be alright… get out of here!

Adrian: He nodded thankfully and quickly grabbed his jacket and got his boots on, quickly heading out the front door. He took a last peek at the studio door, before he ran out the gate. He looked down the street, empty. He looked in the other direction, instantly spotting Raven turning around a corner. He took a deep breath and quickly ran in the direction, catching up with Raven before he turned down another street Hey! He stopped next to the dark haired one, breathing a bit heavy in the cold air Why did you leave like that?

Raven: Like what? he stuck his hands in his pocket, looking at Adrian with a soft frown I said good night…. I said I was going home… what strikes you as odd about that exit?

Adrian: … your behavior right now strikes me as odd.

Raven: He sighed deep

Adrian: Tell me… please.

Raven: It's nothing… just silly thoughts. I thought it was best going home, rather than dwelling on it.

Adrian: He stepped a bit closer, slow and gentle grabbing onto Raven's wrists, lifting his hands out of his pockets, slipping his fingers between Raven's Well.. I'm here now… he smiled lightly IF you wanna talk about it, I will listen… and if not, that's fine too… but may I go home with you?

Raven: You don't want to stay with Dalton instead?

Adrian: No he shook his head light and short no… I think I'm needed here more at the moment.

Raven: And how about what YOU need?

Adrian: He contemplated a short moment, then answered in a lowered voice I need the people I love to be alright. Dalton will have Malou to take care of him… that doesn't mean I am only here because of

Raven: I know he nodded lightly, and gently dragged Adrian down the street Let's go home.

Chapter 43b - She will never let go when she has you.

Episode 1.

Back in the car, questioning faces met Adrian and Dalton

Una: She was the first to speak what about Malou, then?

Dalton: He chuckled amused and lightly shook his head you just saw your son, kiss a man, and the first thing you ask is 'what about Malou, then?'

Una: She frowned lightly I have seen you kiss men many times before.

Dalton: He snorted lightly Small pecks on the mouth, yes, but not like that he gestured at the window towards the spot where Adrian and him had stood kissing, few minutes earlier

Una: …. she frowned a bit deeper, clearly needing an answer from her son

Dalton: He sighed deep How about you acknowledge Adrian first?! This is actually happening, mum. He grabbed Adrian's hand again, squeezing it tight this time, getting slightly annoyed with his mom

Una: …. she forced a soft smile I'm sorry. She looked at Adrian with an apologetic frown I'm sorry. It's just, his love life has been a mess, to the point where it became toxic for years and at times destroyed him. I have nothing against the two of you, dating… or what you are she smiled soft and I don't mean disregard putting it like that, it's simply at the moment, I have absolutely no info. And perhaps it's none of my business, but when you watch your son, slowly break down, over a line of years, cause the person he loves, keeps treating him like she frowned again, taking a deep breath I need to know he's in safe hands this time, and Malou seemed like safe hands. I'm not saying you aren't, I'm saying I know nothing, so I ask. Is that wrong?

Adrian: He sighed soft, his face turning surprisingly mild No it's not wrong. At all. He looked around a bit hesitating, then looked at Dalton with a soft frown Can we go to your place for a coffee or a beer, or something? It's maybe not the best to have THIS conversation in a car, in the middle of the night. I would like to actually be able to see your moms face.

Dalton: are you up for that?

Adrian: He sighed soft I have to, right?

Dalton: Raven just make a turn left agreeing with Adrian that they were going to his place

Adrian: He nodded thankfully

Una: ….

Dalton: We'll be there in a couple minutes, you can interrogate us then he grinned cheekily at his mom

Una: She shook her head lightly at her sons cheekiness, then smiled warmly at Adrian Thank you.

The car fell quiet the rest of the way towards Dalton's place, and the only thing that kept Adrian from getting too nervous about the whole situation, was the fact that Dalton kept holding his hand firmly, by that keeping him somewhat calm. The closeness of Dalton always seemed to have that effect on him.

Dalton: As they arrived at the house, he quickly got out after Adrian and ran to the door, unlocking for the others, then hurried upstairs to check on Malou, as she didn't seem to be at the bottom floor of the house. He found her sleeping across his bed. He smiled at the sight of her, and suddenly had a strong urge to tumble into bed with her. He quickly walked up to her, placing a gentle kiss on her temple. She looked adorable when sleeping, and it always made him smile. He observed her for a short moment, then ran back downstairs to join the others Hey, sorry, she's sleeping, so I suppose we have to do this without her he shrugged lightly and looked at Adrian and his mom sitting awkwardly on the couch, his dad sitting on a recliner across the tea table Alright uh… what can I get you to drink?

James: Raven is already taking care of us in the kitchen he smiled softly

Dalton: He got interrupted as he heard a couple of clinky clanky sounds from the kitchen, and hurried in the direction, finding Raven standing by the kitchen counter, the kitchen already smelling wonderful Uh he chuckled surprised and walked up to the counter, and Raven what are you doing?

Raven: Saving the night… and Adrian he chuckled softly and smiled at Dalton as he looked at him Irish coffee's for everyone.

Dalton: He sighed relieved and chuckled, then a realization dawned on him shit! We don't have any Whiskey!

Raven: He smirked secretive Already taken care of… straight from the McKinney castle… the best Whiskey you will ever taste

Dalton: He chuckled cheekily and smirked at Raven You seem very confident in that, are you sure?!

Raven: He lifted an eyebrow, and stuck his thumb into the neck of the already open Whiskey bottle, turning it lightly around, till his thumb was soaked, then gently placed the bottle back on the desk, extracting his thumb with a thup! He quickly reached his hand towards Dalton, elegantly swiping his thumb over Dalton's lips, in a swift move Positive. He spoke in a soft, yet alluring voice*

Dalton: *His lips slightly parted, for a couple of seconds he seemed sorta in a trance, then he snapped out of it and licked his lips *chuckling light and almost goofy* yeah okay, it's delicious.

Raven: Of course, it's Irish he smirked at Dalton and returned to making the drinks

Dalton: Hey, put a little extra in all of them…

Raven: Already did he chuckled lightly I'll be in with them in a minute.

Dalton: You don't need help?

Raven: He sighed softly Not at all. Go save Adrian, please.

Dalton: He nodded quick and headed for the living room in long quick steps.

A couple hours later, the mood was high. Even Adrian seemed to feel less awkward in the company, now that things had been set straight, and Dalton's parents had not only gotten to know more about him and the poly stuff, but had also completely accepted it all, and as an added bonus, actually seemed to like him, and had several times complimented how happy Dalton seemed, And how cute they looked together when Dalton had kissed Adrian again

James: Oh no no no, no more for me he chuckled slightly drunkenly as Raven offered him another Irish Coffee Then we will never make it home in bed.

Dalton: Stay here! You can have my bed!

James: No no, where are you two supposed to sleep then? he nodded at Adrian

Dalton: There's a perfectly fine couch in the studio.

James: And mum and I can sleep there then.

Dalton: Absolutely not! It's slippery outside! You can take my bed I'll just go wake up Malou

James: Malou is sleeping in your bed? he chuckled lightly No Dalton, it's alright, I'll call a cab.

Dalton: Dad, it's Christmas, I doubt you'll get a cab this time of night! It's completely fine! I'll fix it!

Una: But where's Raven supposed to sleep then?

Dalton: Well he chuckled cheekily since you're so concerned he can sleep between dad and you

James: He laughed loud and warm

Raven: First of all, I wouldn't be against that he winked at Una, who blushed in return and let something escape that sounded mostly like a school girl giggle, and for a moment Dalton realized he had never seen his mom look so young before! secondly, I'm sure there's plenty room in Malou's bed for an extra person, if I'm supposed to stay here as well.

Una: Oh! You two are dating? I always assumed she was single?! I mean before her and Dalton

Raven: No he smiled friendly no, we are not dating. Or anything else for that matter. He smiled softly for her, there is only Dalton.

Dalton: He froze a bit as he heard the words, a tickly rush to his stomach, a warmth and excitement burst through his body I'm gonna he gestured towards the second floor and ran up the stairs, nearly tripping on the top step, then ran the few steps down the hallway and into his room, surprised to find Malou sitting on his bed You're awake?! he panted lightly with a big smile plastered on his face

Malou: She nodded slowly and felt a bit embarrassed that she had fallen asleep in his bed Who's downstairs?

Dalton: Mum, dad, Adrian and Raven.

Malou: Her eyebrows lifted to mid forehead

Dalton: He snorted amused and walked up to the bed, looking down at her with a warm smile did you sleep well?

Malou: … uh yeah she blushed lightly sorry I fell asleep here, it wasn't my intention, I was just here to check for dirty clothes and wanted to put clean sheets on your bed, but I suddenly felt completely exhausted, and thought I'd just lay down for a second. She smiled apologizing and shrugged it was so comfy, and smelled like you she more or less mumbled the last part

Dalton: His smile grew a bit warmer Raven says there's only me….

Malou: …. what? she chuckled confused

Dalton: For you…. there's only me, for you…

Malou: ….. oh she blushed brighter and rubbed her hands a bit nervously …. yeah….

Dalton: He sat down next to her, gently pushing his shoulder against hers in a teasing manner As much as I completely soak in those words, and feel extremely grateful and happy…. I can't help but think that maybe you deserve the same in return or

Malou: I don't see it as deserving, Dalton she sighed soft and looked at his glass in his hands, wondering if it was beer or another alcohol, but it was hard to determine in the low light of the room. She could really need the rest of that drink right about now! That was for sure! Our relationship isn't traditional, and I'm okay with that… I don't long for traditional unless it's Christmas, and even there I'm pretty flexible she smiled softly I want you to be happy, and I very much mean that. And as long as there's still some Dalton left for me, whatever that space in your life might be, I'm more than thankful. Yes of course I prefer a particular space more than others, but that's in the end up to you, and I gladly take what I can get. I mean it. I literally just want to spend my life with you, any way possible. That's all I can ever hope for. She paused a bit as she heard James laugh loudly Please tell me why Adrian and your parents are in the same room?

Dalton: He snorted lightly There were a lot of questions, and we ended up going back here so we could have a couple drinks and an interrogation.

Malou: She nodded slowly, trying to process what that would mean, then quickly grabbed the drink and finished it in 3 large mouthfuls, shivering as she handed the glass back to Dalton. It was Whiskey! She coughed lightly and chuckled I needed that.

Dalton: He nodded gently and chuckled cheekily I see! he reached forwards, stroking a strand of hair behind her ear Are we okay?

Malou: She nodded once well… I guess it depends what you told your parents about… me…. her heart starting to beat a little faster, nervous what the answer might be, but she had to know

Dalton: He nodded lightly and placed the glass on the floor a bit away from the bed, dragging one leg up in bed, so he could turn to face her straight forwards instead, his smile growing more warm and innocent, calm, but still with a hint of cheekiness as he gazed deep into her eyes I told them that you and I are very much in love, and we want to be together, so I suppose that means we're a… I'm your….

Malou: She chuckled shyly and lowered her head a little, though still looking at him boyfriend…

Dalton: He chuckled happily and nodded, pleased with her choice of word boyfriend. Yes…. I would very much like to be your boyfriend… Malou…. if you will be mine?

Malou: Boyfriend or

Dalton: He chuckled again whatever title you prefer.

Malou: She slowly leaned in, whispering against his lips for you… girlfriend

Dalton: He smiled happily and leaned closer, kissing her tenderly

Malou: *She moaned relieved and dug her hands into his waist leaning more into their kiss, trying to drag him a little closer

Dalton: He quickly reached out, wrapping his arms around her neck, now also leaning more into the kiss, relieved they had finally settled it more openly. There were no doubts left, a couple now. And it was both relieving and exciting!

Malou: I love you so much, Dalton she spoke softly into their kiss, and poured all her love into it

Dalton: I love you too, Malou, very much he mumbled back between kisses, equally allowing his love free flow

Malou: She sighed soft as their kiss grew more passionate and slowly pulled out of it, much against her will I'm sorry she chuckled shyly and opened her eyes, observing Dalton sitting there, with still closed eyes

Dalton: He cleared his throat and opened his eyes, chuckling a bit shy as well Sorry for what?

Malou: Not continuing the kiss… she took a deep breath to try to calm herself I just… really… want you…. and uhm she felt herself blush, looking down at the floor your parents are just downstairs… I mean… I don't know them very well…. I don't want you know…

Dalton: He chuckled shyly yeah, no, I understand…. I actually came to wake you up, cause I promised my bed to my parents tonight, they are going to sleep here, since no one is really in a condition to drive any longer, and I doubt they can get any taxi at this part of night, at this time of year… I mean, if you want to sleep more in here, now that I know you like the scent so much he grinned cheekily I could always offer them the couch in the studio instead.

Malou: She squinted her eyes at him You were not supposed to know that!

Dalton: He chuckled cheekily is it just my bed, or me too?

Malou: She squinted harder oh shut up! Get up, I'll get some clean sheets on so your parents can sleep in a clean bed at least.

Dalton: He chuckled amused I can do that, you don't have to

Malou: Isn't that why you hired me? she smirked at him teasingly I'll do it she stood up and started grabbing at the bed sheets So… where are you going to sleep?

Dalton: I'd offer your bed, but, if you don't wanna

Malou: That doesn't mean I don't want to sleep with you, you know she smirked back at him

Dalton: Yeah, alright… but once that Whiskey kick's in… and I'm by no means sober either… he smirked at her and stood up, quickly grabbing the sheets to help her

Malou: You have a point she chuckled somewhat shyly and felt a chill as their hands suddenly brushed against each other

Dalton: He stopped in his tracks, it was clear to see he had felt it as well …….. he cleared his throat again and stood up tall How about I go talk with the others downstairs and figure the sleeping arrangements out?

Malou: She nodded agreeing and hesitated just a couple awkward seconds, then threw herself at him, grabbing him by the jawline, pulling him into a demanding and passionate kiss

Dalton: He moaned surprised and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close against himself, as he eagerly returned the kiss in the same manner

Malou: A soft moan escaping her as well, as her whole stomach turned into butterflies, ready to fly away with them both, her knees growing week and her head spinning dizzily

Dalton: There were no denying he felt exactly the same. It was as if they were floating off in to space, and the fact that they weren't alone, seemed nothing but a faded yellowed memory

Malou: Her hands found their way back to his waist, her fingertips shyly slipping under his shirt, brushing ever so lightly over his naked skin

Dalton: He sighed soft from pleasure between kisses, feeling a slight bulge starting to form, pressing against his pants

Malou: She nibbled lightly on his bottom lip, feeling intoxicated, not by the Whiskey, but by the very magic Dalton was made of

Dalton: Mh! he frowned as suddenly his pants started ringing, expecting it to probably be his dad, so he quickly fumbled to pick up the phone as he hesitatingly parted their kiss I'm sorry I he pressed the phone against his ears Dad! We're coming now! he said with a soft desperate chuckle, then froze as his ex spoke on the phone

Malou: She stood there, instinctively knowing exactly who it was, watching as Dalton's face crumbled and turned serious… sad… lost

Dalton: His eyes slipped towards the floor as he quickly walked out of the room, and into the bathroom Why are you calling me?!

Malou: She frowned soft and quickly pulled the rest of the sheets off, getting some new on fast. A thousand thoughts racing in her head. Was she back?! Was he going to fall for her all over again? What would that mean for her? For Adrian? They had changed their lives for Dalton. Was it all for nothing? She shook her head and suddenly didn't know what to do with herself. She stood there a moment, feeling tears press, then grabbed the dirty sheets, throwing them in a pile and scooped them up in her arms. She took a quick look around the room, to see if she could spot anything that needed taking care of, before the room would be alright for Dalton's parents. But as she spotted nothing, she just left the room with the dirty sheets, quickly throwing them into her own room. She could deal with it later. She stopped by the bathroom door for a couple seconds, but dared neither to knock nor to listen, so instead she rushed downstairs, doing her best to put on a brave smile as she was greeted by Una

Una: Oh there you are sweetheart! she stood up, spreading her arms as if Malou was her long lost daughter in law, and quickly walked towards her, embracing her tightly Oh it's so good to see you! Did you have a lovely nap? I'm so sorry Dalton woke you up, James insisted we could take a cab home, but you know how Dalton is.

Malou: She sighed soft, feeling the tears press again

Una: Oh darling, if I had known it would be so hard for you to wake up she let go of Malou, studying her face with a warm, sympathetic smile we would have

Malou: It's not that. Dalton had a phone call.

Una: Oh? You look like there was bad news? Is everything alright?

Adrian: He frowned soft and quickly got up, joining Una and Malou Is everything alright?

Malou: He uh got a call from she frowned lightly

Una: …….. oh! she looked at Adrian with a soft frown His ex.

Adrian: A deep frown gathered on his forehead

Una: I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, she probably calls to wish him merry Christmas

Malou: She sighed deep, but couldn't get herself to say what was on her mind

Una: Speak up my dear she smiled encouraging I'm sure we're all thinking it.

Malou: She sighed deep and was just about to open her mouth, then shook her head

Raven: He now all of a sudden stood between her and Adrian, slowly reaching a glass of Whiskey towards her

Malou: She quickly grabbed the glass and swallowed the liquid in a couple large mouthfuls, groaning softly, then wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and shoved the glass back in Raven's hand I just don't get how she keeps getting his number?!? He has changed number 3 times now! Every time I think we finally has peace from her, and I start letting my guards down, she comes popping right on in like a fucking she paused herself, taking a deep breath he's going to be ruined for days again now! Or worse! What if it rips up in stuff and makes him consider going back to her?! Then what??! What about me… us??!! Chapter 36 - December Sacrifice.

Episode 3. *Across town, someone was having a less relaxed time* Dalton: *He nearly fell into the house as he unlocked the front door, managing to drop a couple of books and a bag of something on the ground, before nearly stumbling over it all* SHIT! Malou: *She looked at him with a raised eyebrow from her spot on the couch, and quickly sat up* Do you need help with that? Dalton: No *he sighed heavily* I've been like this the whole fucking day! I'm all over the place! I just feel like everything is slipping through my fingers! I broke two cups already, I missed a deadline, AGAIN! I nearly ran out in front of a car, I stepped into a puddle, and my parents called me about 30 minutes ago, and reminded me that my ex and I were invited for dinner tonight! And I'm so stressed out I had forgotten all about it, and now I can't cancel cause dinner is already cooking! Malou: *She quickly got up and rushed towards him, scooping everything up in her arms* Dalton... sit down! *she nodded at the couch* You can barely breathe right now. Dalton: I'd love to sit down, Malou! But honestly, I don't even have time for that! I have to somehow wrap up these books, it's early Christmas gifts, or they were supposed to be! I haven't even showered yet and I need to be out of the door in 20 minutes MAX! Preferably 15! Malou: *She sighed soft* Sit. Down. I'll wrap the books, and I'm sure your parents would rather having an alive less clean son, than a clean dead one who stressed himself into a heart attack! Dalton: *He sighed soft and kicked his shoes off, dragging his feet to the couch, then threw himself on it*

Malou: Good, thank you *she smiled warmly* Just tell me how to wrap them, please.

Dalton: The two big one’s for mum, the other one is for my dad.

Malou: And should I put tags on them?

Dalton: ........... no, just some paper, that would be fine.

Malou: Okay *she nodded lightly and headed upstairs, quickly finding her Christmas papers, ribbons and other gift wrapping stuff. She quick but firmly wrapped the books, making sure everything was neat and pretty, just the way she liked it. She had always loved to wrap gifts, and make them look as pretty and inviting as possible. To her it had always been half the fun of giving gifts. She decorated the wrapped books with silky ribbons, and each got a small fresh pine twig, for extra festive flair. When she was done, she found a couple nice gift bags in her stash and slipped the books into each. She then walked back downstairs, placing the gift bags in front of Dalton on the table.* How's that? Only took 5 minutes.

Dalton: *He looked at her surprised and sat up, peeking into the bags.* How did you do all THAT in such a short time? They look incredible! I don't think they have ever gotten such nicely wrapped gifts from me before! *He chuckled* not even professionally wrapped! They're always way over the top! You made them look so elegant and warm. Very festive, yet simple.

Malou: *She smiled soft* Thank you, I'm glad you like them.

Dalton: You really have a flair for anything creative, don't you?

Malou: *She chuckled lightly* what's up with the flattery?

Dalton: *He sighed deep* Please come with me? I can't deal with dinner right now on my own, having to answer all the questions. If you're there, it's a nice distraction from what else will easily be the main subject. And we already talked about you meeting them anyway.... please? *He looked at her with the cutest puppy eyes*

Malou: *Feeling all fuzzy and warm inside* I don't know, Dalton...I don't like the idea of showing up unannounced, and I know very little of them. Having to eat dinner with them the first time I meet them...*she shivered* Uuuh! I don't know! I'm not even dressed for something like that! *She looked down herself, just wearing the usual old flannel shirt*

Dalton: You look fine!

Malou: *She squinted a bit more* ..... fine! But I WILL run upstairs and at the very least throw something on that isn't stained, and brush my hair!

Dalton: 10 minutes!

Malou: I thought you already learned I only need 5! *she pointed her tongue at him, the quickly ran upstairs*

Dalton: You forgot to tell me what payment you want *he yelled after her and chuckled*

Malou: Oh you're definitely going to pay! I'll figure something out! *she yelled back and rushed into her room, slamming her door after her* Shitshitshitshitshit!!!! *She stormed to her closet* Okay, no time to impress, just pick a safe choice, throw on a bit of mascara and some perfume, grab a brush and get out of here! *She quickly found a casual yet pretty sweater, a pair of nice jeans, a necklace and put it all on. She quickly got both concealer and mascara on, brushed her hair, and even made a quick tooth brushing before quickly spritzing a bit of perfume on, rushing out the bathroom door* SHIT! *She quickly rushed back in, grabbed a male perfume and hurried down the stairs* How's the time?

Dalton *He chuckled lightly and got up, grabbed the bags and walked over to the front door* You're just fine, we still have approximately 4 minutes to get our overcoats on and head out the door, I think we will make it *he chuckled lightly* Cab will be here in a couple minutes. I already called.

Malou: Phew! *she chuckled lightly* Ah! *she reached the male perfume to Dalton* as a cover for the missing shower!

Dalton: *He smiled bright and chuckled* What would I do without you?

Malou: She chuckled shyly and shook her head* you know, I ask myself daily!

Dalton: *He burst out a light chuckle and grabbed the perfume, quickly spraying some on, then placing the bottle on the hallway bench, grabbing his boots* Thank you, and thank you for coming, you look really nice.

Malou: *She shrugged lightly* Better than before at least *she took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves and grabbed her boots*

Dalton: It will be fine. They are my parents. They raised me. Which means they can't be THAT bad.

Malou: Is this supposed to help me? *she chuckled nervously*

Dalton: Well that's what I was aiming for *he chuckled lightly* they're very much like me. Down to earth, enjoys music, drinks a lot of wine.

Malou: *She shook her head lightly and grabbed her jacket, quickly getting it on*

Dalton: Ready? *he asked as he got his jacket on*

Malou: Mh-hm... as ready as I'm going to be *she said in a nervous voice, while binding her scarf*

Dalton: *he nodded soft* You'll do perfectly fine, I promise.

Malou: *She took another deep breath, nodding nervously*

Dalton: Hey *he smiled soft* Is it too much? .... you don't have to come if *he suddenly got interrupted by the taxi honking on the street*

Malou: It's okay.

Dalton: Are you sure? *he smiled soft and concerned* I don't want you to feel overwhelmed or forced.

Malou: I don't feel forced... and I'm gonna be overwhelmed and scared no matter when I get to meet them... this way might actually be the best one... cause if I had known beforehand I would have worried for days or weeks!

Malou: *She shook her head lightly but couldn't help but chuckle* let's just go before I chicken out!

Dalton: *He nodded confirming and grabbed the gift bags, opening the door*

Dalton: *He smiled warmly and chuckled lightly* You're very thoughtful, thank you.

Malou: *She nodded lightly and shy* Go on before the taxi honks again, I'll lock.

*As they got out of the cab, she looked nervous at the big house*

Dalton: It's alright *he smiled at her warmly as he stopped next to her* You'll do just fine. You'll see! I believe in you! *He smiled soft* Come on.

Malou: *She nodded lightly and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves*

Dalton: *As they walked up to the house, he walked straight in, quickly kicking his shoes off* Hey! Mum! Dad! Where are you guys? *He yelled loudly*

Malou: *She looked a bit nervous around, as she quickly kicked off her shoes was well, not wanting to stand and fiddle with that, while everyone could be looking at her.*

Dalton: MUM?!?? *He chuckled lightly and took his jacket off, hanging it on the wall, then smiled soft at Malou* can I take your coat?

Malou: *She blushed lightly and quickly let her jacket slide off, handing it to Dalton* Thank you.

Dalton: *He grabbed the coat* They must be in the kitchen, judging by the smell, let's go find them.

Malou: *She followed Dalton quickly, observing the beautiful house lightly as they made their way through it, the smell of delicious food only growing stronger*

Dalton: Mum! *He chuckled lightly as they walked into the kitchen* You didn't hear us?

Una: Oh! I didn't see you guys! *she quickly turned around, then looked a bit confused as she spotted Malou* Oh you brought a friend instead of-

Dalton: Yeah, and gifts *he quickly handed her the gift bag, to try to skip past the slightly awkward situation* There's one for you and one for dad!

Una: Oh! *she chuckled warmly and quickly hugged her son* Thank you darling, you shouldn't have! *he voice remaining welcoming, cheerful and warm*

Dalton: *He smiled a bit forced at her* Malou wrapped them.

Una: Oh! You're Malou! *her smile getting wider as she clearly recognized the name*

Malou: *She smiled nervously, yet relieved that there seemed to be some sort of recognition, a sign that Dalton at the very least had mentioned her before*

Una: *She quickly handed the stirring spoon to Dalton and dried her hands in a towel* Stir the gravy, will you? *She quickly stepped towards Malou and reached out her hand* I'm Una, it's very nice to meet you, Malou!

Malou: *She smiled as polite as possible* It's very nice to meet you too.

Una: I had imagined you completely different, so I apologize for my surprise.

Malou: *She chuckled nervously* that's okay, I hope I don't disappoint?

Una: No, not at all my dear, not at all! *she smiled warmly* My husband, James, is in the garden, he likes to spend his time out there before dinner on most days *she looked back at Dalton for a brief moment, then returned to Malou*  Would you please *she grabbed a bottle from a table next to her, pouring some in a glass* take this to him and tell him dinner will be done in 10 minutes? *She smiled soft and nodded towards Dalton*

Dalton: Mum, I'm right here! *he chuckled soft and shook his head, then looked at Malou* You don't have to. I mean, he doesn't bite... but she's just trying to get you out of the kitchen so she can interrogate me... it's fine, Malou knows the gist of it all, I don't mind

Malou: It's fine *she smiled politely at Una and picked up the glass*

Una: And what will you drink my dear?

Malou: Another wine would be nice, thank you.

Una: Oh she's so polite, Dalton *she smiled brightly* you should bring more people like her home *she glared soft at her son, chuckling lightly as she quickly poured another glass for Malou. Just through the dining room there *she nodded ahead of them* you'll find the garden door easily.

Dalton: Really, you don't have to *he smiled apologizing*

Malou: *She shook her head lightly* It's okay, I have wine.

Una: *She chuckled warmly* And she has spirit too!

Malou: *She chuckled lightly and quickly left the room, instantly spotting the garden door as she stepped into the dining room, taking a deep breath. So far so good. Una seemed very friendly, and oddly enough Malou wasn't as nervous as she had imagined. So she quickly made her way to the door, and slipped out into the garden*

Dalton: She does *he smiled soft, still looking in the direction Malou had disappeared*

Una: *Observing her son, then grabbed the spoon* Don't burn my gravy now!

Dalton: what? *He looked back at her questioning.

Una: So tell me... what's going on with you and-

Malou: *She spotted Dalton's dad quickly and walked towards him, holding both glasses up in a greeting manner as she stopped in front of him* Malou.. I brought wine.

James: *He chuckled surprised and grabbed the glass she held towards him* A young, beautiful woman, bringing me wine... Christmas certainly comes early this year! *He reached his hand out, greeting her with a firm handshake* I'm James. Quite a nice hand shake you got there, firm, determined.

Malou: Thank you *she smiled warmly* A grand uncle taught me. As he said, if you want to give someone your hand, you gotta mean it. There's no reason to offer a wet news paper, no one wants to shake hands with that. Keep it firm, confident, and keep eye contact.

James: That is very true *he nodded agreeing* I suppose you're Dalton's new friend?

Malou: Yes *she smiled softly and sipped her wine, trying to calm her nerves further, although James already seemed to be her cup of tea*

James: and since you're here with wine, I assume that means my wife has kidnapped the boy for a talk?

Malou: *She nodded lightly* She says dinner will be ready in 10 minutes.

James: Ah! Just time enough to grill him with the duck!

Malou: *She chuckled warmly*

James: Cheers!

Malou: Cheers *she smiled friendly as she cheered her glass against his, and sipped her wine again* So duck?

James: Yes... do you like duck?

Malou: I absolutely love it! But it's been too long since I last had it!

James: What? They don't serve ducks where you're from?

Malou: *She chuckled warmly* Oh yes they do. But not where I ended up.

James: I welcome you back to life then! *he smiled warmly and cheered her glass*

Chapter 43 - Surprise concert.

Episode 4.

They went by the bar, ordered a couple of beer, then went outside, spotting a bench not far from the entrance. They sat down, talking back and forwards about the place, just smalltalk, not exactly one of Adrian's favorites, but just as he was about to make a remark, the subject changed

Malou: She sighed soft and sipped her beer No, I'm pretty sure he doesn't see quite what you and I see. It's such a shame.

Adrian: I agree… but… on the other hand, if he knew, he might not even be interested in us? I can't help but feel like this rare, pure being fell into my lap, and I can't quite grasp that I am allowed to even touch him. Malou: She nodded lightly and took the last mouthful of her beer I feel ya!

*As they went back into the rehearsal room again, Raven was in the middle of a jam session on the drums, while half of the band was jamming with him, while Una and James were clapping happily at the performance.

Dalton: He quickly got up from a chair where he was sat laughing and hurried towards the two of them, passing them with a cheeky grin, fast heading out into the hallway, but while he slipped passed them, he said something loud and clear I'm just going to the toilet!

Malou: She chuckled amused as she turned and looked in the direction Dalton had disappeared I guess that means YOU'RE going to the toilet

Adrian: He lifted his eyebrows he could just as easily have said it to you

Malou: He looked at you, Adrian… it's not rocket science… beside I can't waltz into the male bathroom, in case he's actually headed there she smiled softly you go ahead… I'll go rescue Raven from himself she chuckled lightly go on…

Adrian: He scrathed the back of his neck, looking contemplating in the direction of the others

Malou: They wont notice… if they do…I'll make a drumsolo too! she snorted get out of here!

Adrian: He nodded once, then hurried after Dalton. He quickly found the way to the bathrooms, and slipped into the male one, noticing Dalton standing on the middle of the floor with a more than cheeky smirk

Dalton: What took you so long? I was starting to think you wouldn't-

Adrian: He quickly took a couple big steps, grabbed Dalton by the collar, and pushed his back hard and demanding up against the bathroom wall, leaning into a demanding and passionate French kiss

Dalton: He moaned surprised and quickly grabbed Adrian's hips, pulling him closer, returning the kiss eagerly

Malou: She sighed soft and grabbed a beer from the table, and nodded at Raven as she opened it up

Raven: Adrian? he spoke in her head

Malou: She frowned lightly Don't do that she quickly sipped her beer With Dalton in the bathroom, I suppose…

Malou: She nodded confirming just stop roaming around my head… it's crowded enough as it is.

Dalton: He shivered lightly against Adrian's lips, feeling himself melt into Adrian's arms. Feeling safe, comforted, home. But most, most of all, he felt warm. As if everything that had been wrong and broken inside him, melted together and he finally felt whole again Adrian he whispered softly and pulled out of their kiss, panting softly

Adrian: Yes? He cleared his throat, trying to yank himself out of the Dalton haze

Dalton: He chuckled both surprised and happy, although he didn't quite understand why he was so surprised, it had been quite obvious that Adrian was falling for him… he HAD tagged along without much protest after all.

Adrian: Maybe it's best we uh he grabbed one of Dalton's hands, squeezing it lightly head back into the others he cleared his throat again

Dalton: He chuckled cheekily Yeah, I think we better do that! Reality awaits, right?

Dalton: A wide cheeky grin replaced the frown

They both got interrupted as the door to the bathroom swung open, and in walked Dalton's dad

James: He observed his son for a moment, then cleared his throat Mum and I are going outside for a bit of air and a walk, we will be back again before you guys go on.

Dalton: You couldn't have told me that after I was done in the toilet? he chuckled at his dad in the mirror

James: * He gestured towards the toilet stalls* perhaps others need to go as well, son.

Dalton: He snorted By all means.

James: ……. you know, you can talk to us…. if there's anything you need to get off your chest.

Dalton: He locked eyes with his dad in the mirror, but only a couple of seconds, then he closed the tab and grabbed a couple paper towels, drying his hands you know, you can talk to me as well he pulled a dumb smirk, trying to avoid the direction his dad was trying to navigate the conversation

James: ……. just be clear with the girl…. I think she really have her heart set on you. As your father, I need to remind you of a

Dalton: Dad! he sighed soft Malou and I are dating… a couple…. whatever we are…. I don't know what you're

James: …. well, the man seems to have a 'good eye for you' as well and…. he sighed soft well, it's none of my business. I just hope you will make the right decision, for you, and know that mum and I would be okay with whatever you might choose for your life, as long as you're happy. We're just relieved you're finally moving on, and all we hope is that you choose a kind person who adores you as much as we do.

Dalton: I think that's pretty impossible, dad he chuckled lightly

James: A warm chuckle escaped him Perhaps. But as close to as possible then. He nodded at a toilet stall I better, before your mom gets tired of waiting.

Dalton: He nodded agreeing Don't get lost

James: He chuckled again

Dalton: I'll see you guys later he smiled brightly, then walked towards the door, but just as he opened it, he turned around, looking at his dad with a soft smile Hey dad!

James: Mh? He smiled warmly at his son

As the concert was almost over and it was time for the last song, a sweaty but happy Dalton smiled wide at the audience from the chair behind his piano

Dalton: Alright guys, we'll play one last song. But thank you for tonight, you've been marvelous! He smiled cheekily and chuckled, quickly sipping his beer before starting to play and audience favorite

Raven: He smiled soft as he observed Adrian Well aren't you a smitten kitten?

Adrian: Whom had been lost in observing Dalton with a sheepish smile, instantly snapped out of it and glared at Raven

Raven: He chuckled amused No one heard me, relax.

Raven: He chuckled lightly Alright… give me a kiss, it will throw anyone off the scent!

Adrian: He glared harder, but couldn't help but chuckle, then slowly leaned in. Truth is, he had wanted to kiss Raven for hours, so why not grab the opportunity. Surely everyone else were too busy with the band to notice?

Raven: He sighed relieved as their lips met, he had missed Adrian, now that he had gotten busy with Dalton. But he had been determined to be patient, and wait for his turn. However, now that he finally got a taste of Adrian again, he couldn't help but grab Adrian by the chest of his shirt, and demandingly pull him deeper into their kiss

Adrian: He moaned soft and surrendered, no protest. He had missed Raven too.

As the concert ended, they spent about an hour to pack up everything in the band van and try to figure whom would drive with whom. Malou decided she wanted to go home, she was tired, and ended up tagging along Willow and Ezra who happened to walk by and was heading in that direction anyway. The band was impatient and drove off. So left was a quite tipsy Dalton, a sober Raven, a slightly tipsy Adrian and Dalton's parents, whom had also had a couple beers too much

Adrian: He grunted irritated It's winter, and it looks like it's about to snow again any minute!

Raven: How about I drive us all? he smiled soft at Adrian

Dalton: He chuckled lightly and nodded at Adrian's car Mum! Dad! Get in!

Una: She chuckled lightly

Adrian: James, you can sit in he front with Raven, the rest of us will take the backseat, that way there's more than plenty space for everyone's legs.

Dalton: He observed the whole scenario with a cheeky grin, oddly proud of Adrian for taking charge like that, then quickly got into the car, so he sat between Adrian and his mom Mum, can you get in on your own? he chuckled lightly at her

Una: Yes, my dear she smiled warmly and quickly got in, closing the door after her

Raven: He nodded back then started the car and slowly drove off Which direction?

James: He quickly explained their address and what road would be easiest this time of year

Raven: Got it he smiled warmly

They drove for a short while, then Adrian started noticing Dalton got closer and closer

Dalton: He suddenly brushed his fingers over the back of Adrian's hand, trying his hardest to be stealth about it

Adrian: Felt himself blush lightly, keeping his eyes planted towards the front of the car, making sure James who had been very busy observing them all day and evening, weren't once again keeping an eye on them

Dalton: He chuckled cheekily, clearly amused by Adrian's reaction, simultaneously doing it because his soul was screaming to be close to Adrian, but also simply wanting to tease him

Raven: He noticed too, from the rear view mirror and chuckled amused Una, James he spoke in a warm, inviting voice would you mind if I drop Adrian and Dalton off first? he slowed down the car at a crossroad it's only a slight detour if I turn down this road right now?

Adrian: He squinted at Raven, afraid Dalton's parents would get suspicious It's completely fine, just drive the

Una: No no, you both look tired, I just wonder if we shouldn't drop Dalton of at home, with Malou? She smiled hopeful at her son She's such a nice girl Dalton, and finding her has been very good for you. You've come alive again, and you're much happier, don't waste an opportunity like that, son.

Adrian: By now he was watching Dalton, his heart pounding harder, his temperature rising, finding himself head over heels with Dalton's cheeky look and playfulness

Raven: Still observing from the mirror, by now slowly turning it, so James also would be able to follow, if he wished

James: He took the hint and watched the mirror with a lifted eyebrow

Raven: Starting to wonder if he would get away with dragging popcorn out of the thin air

Dalton: Cheeky smirking, finger nibbling combo, driving Adrian nuts

Adrian: Oh for crying out loud! he wanted to grab Dalton and kiss him, but in a split second chickened out and in a rush got out of the car, lighting a cig, taking a huge drag as he stepped several meters away from the car, sighing deep into the cold night air

James: Maybe we should

Dalton: Hang on he quickly dragged himself over the seat and got out, closing the car door behind him, quickly walking up to Adrian what's going on?

Adrian: I thought we were supposed to wait telling everyone?

Dalton: Yes… and I still want that…. but…. they are my parents, Adrian…. he sighed soft and looked a bit more serious by now I don't like that my mum worries like that. It's hard that I can't just put her at ease.

Adrian: He nodded softly and thought about it for a short moment …. and it would put her at ease if she knew you are dating a guy?

Dalton: I don't thin they care about that, I mean they never cared about sexualities… beside my dad made this speech in the toilet earlier he chuckled amused he's definitely onto us and made it clear I could always talk to them he sighed soft and shrugged, observing Adrian, longing to kiss him… touch him….

Adrian: And what about a poly relationship? Would they understand that?

Dalton: He shrugged again I don't know? Dalton: I love you he then spoke, in a soft, lowered, warm tone, stepping closer to Adrian

Adrian: A soft smile tucking at his lips I love you too.

Dalton: He smiled a bit wider, gazing deep into Adrian's eyes for a short moment, then leaned in, kissing him tenderly

Adrian: He sighed relieved and returned the tender kiss, pulling a bit in Dalton's hand, to pull him slightly nearer

Una: Her eyes got wide

James: He chuckled lightly as he observed his wife

Una: ….. well she quickly looked at her husband

James: He shrugged lightly

Una: Did you know?

James: a warm smile spread on his lips I had a feeling…

Una: …. Okay she nodded lightly well I suppose we don't have to worry then?

Raven: He's a good man. He paused … I know you don't know me he turned so he could face the two of them at the same time so I'm not sure how much you will value my words. But whether you value my words or not, doesn't take away from the fact that Adrian is a really good, kindhearted man with a huge heart. And he loves your son very much. And without speaking too much on other people's behalf, it appears your son loves him just as much. I don't think you have anything to worry about, when it comes to Dalton finding a love he deserves, because he already did. Or rather, it found him.

Una: She nodded lightly, a small smile turning her mouth upwards

Dalton: He sighed softly as he pulled away from their kiss, giving Adrian's hand another light squeeze before he let go Are we alright?

Adrian: He nodded softly We're more than alright… thank you.

Dalton: His face lit up How about we get home then? I can't wait to be alone with you… I just want you all to myself by now.

Adrian: He nodded confirming Yes, please!

Chapter 44 - Entering Kris.

Episode 1.

*Time skip* Aka I jumbled some chapters in a slight wrong order at a point around here, and I have neither time nor patience to try to sort it out. So everything that is within chapter 44, which is several versions of said number, might be a bit mixed timeline. Sorry. It shouldn't be too confusing. I hope. It was around 9 in the morning as suddenly the door in the studio slammed shut

Malou: She woke by the sound, and was just about to smile at the still sleeping Dalton, laying tight against her on the couch, As she realized she was in fact on the couch, the studio couch, and someone had just slammed the door!!! She sat up with a gasp, instantly noticing Eddie, Dalton's producer, walking towards them, his eyes stuck in a mix of amusement, surprise and questioning. She quickly grabbed her skirt, roughly pulling it down, making sure everything was in place, before she hurried up from the couch, trying her best to neither ignore Eddie, nor have eye contact with him, as she rushed past him, to escape out the door, feeling her whole face glow bright red

Eddie: Good morning, Malou, he said in a firm, yet teasing voice

Malou: Good morning she rushed outside and up the stairs nearly slipping several times as she made it through the small front walk, and up the flight of stairs leading to the front door Shit shit shit! She quickly slammed the door behind her, relieved to have escaped the more than embarrassing situation, when suddenly she heard the sound of a spoon stirring a cup, and turned her head towards the living room

Una: Good morning dear she smiled at her brightly, still stirring her cup of tea How are you two? Is Dalton still sleeping? Do you want some tea? I hope you don't mind we made tea and coffee? You don't drink coffee right? James just went out to get fresh bread, he should be back soon.

Malou: She burst out a very short, very awkward laugh I need to pee!

Meanwhile at the studio

Eddie: He walked fully up to the couch and poked Dalton with his foot

Dalton: He suddenly lifted his upper body with a gasp, looking around, then realized his bottom half was still somewhat naked, quickly rearranging everything under the blanket, then slowly sat up with a tired grunt, rubbing his eyes lightly as he yawned

Eddie: So you two?

Dalton: Mmh he licked his lips lightly, a big goofy grin starting to spread on his face, as memories from the night before started taking shape in his tired head. He reached towards Eddie for the coffee Come on mate!

Eddie: He chuckled warmly and handed Dalton the coffee So tell me he grabbed a chair, quickly sitting down in front of Dalton, observing him curiously Was it good?

Dalton: He raised the coffee towards his mouth, nibbling cheekily on the plastic lid, unable to wipe the grin of his face Well… you know

Eddie: He laughed warmly Judging by your face… yeah I know… or at the very least get a picture… tell me!

Dalton: He sipped his coffee, still smiling cheekily as he shook his head lightly No… I can't man.

Dalton: His grin growing wider, then he marched past Eddie and out the door, but as he ran up the stairs, he fell and slammed down on the snowy ground with a loud yelp

Eddie: He came running out the door Shit are you alright?!?

Dalton: Moaning loud from pain

Una: Dalton!!! She came rushing out the front door, trying to hurry down the stairs, but afraid to fall

James: DALTON!!! He came running through the gate, rushing towards his son nearly slipping as well

Una: James!!! CAREFUL NOW!!!

Eddie: Where does it hurt?!??!

Dalton: In too much pain to answer, barely able to breathe, one long groan after another escaping him

Malou: What's going on?! she came rushing out, and as soon as she saw Dalton on the ground, she sprinted down the stairs and rushed towards him, quickly kneeling down next to him Are you hurt?!?!? she looked at him with worried eyes, grabbing his shoulder

Dalton: No he chuckled through the pain, shaking his head lightly

Malou: Are you sure?! Where do you hurt?!

Dalton: My… FUCKING shin he managed to force out between chuckled and groans it slammed… against the top…. step!!!

Malou: Shit she couldn't help but chuckle lightly I told you those stairs are dangerous! Will you look for a new studio now, please?

Dalton: He nodded lightly, groaning a bit more Take my hand… please… then I might.

Malou: She chuckled lightly and grabbed his hand, squeezing it lightly You're an ass!

Dalton: He chuckled lightly

James: He couldn't help but smile at the scene, then winked at Eddie How about you join us for breakfast? You look hungry…

Eddie: He chuckled lightly and stood up You sure you're fine? -cause then I'll take your dad up on the offer he smiled at Dalton

Dalton: Yeah he nodded eagerly and grunted I'll be fine… we'll be right in he nodded lightly at his still worried mom

Una: Are you sure? Do you need help to get up? Maybe we should take you to the hospital just to get it looked at to be on the safe side?

Dalton: Mum he grunted lightly we will be in in a minute… I promise.

Una: She nodded confirming and allowed Eddie and James to help her up the stairs and back into the house

Malou: You scared me she said with a soft frown as the two of them were alone again, squeezing his hand lightly are you sure you're alright?

Dalton: He smiled cheekily I might be more alright, if you give me a kiss…

Malou: She snorted lightly Your mom is probably watching us from the window…

Dalton: He chuckled lightly and slowly sat up next to her Without a doubt his grin completely melting her

Malou: She chuckled shyly as she felt herself blush, then slowly leaned in, pressing her lips against his in a loving, yet tender kiss.

Chapter 43 - Surprise concert.

Episode 3.

They arrived at the club about 15 minutes later, Dalton's band already waiting outside

Dalton: He quickly got out and started greeting his band members, then a man who looked like the owner of the place, having a quick chat

Adrian: He parked a few meters down the street, and quickly headed around the car to open the door for Dalton's mom

Raven: He picked up on first ring Yes? His voice was warm and inviting

Adrian: Is there a chance you and Malou can come over here, preferably right now? Dalton and his band has been invited to play at this club, and he's about to disappear into the building. Raven: On our way, you run along with the others, if we don't make it, I'll get us into the club anyway, don't worry. I'll see you soon.

Adrian: he nodded lightly and rubbed his forehead thank you. See you! He quickly lit a cig then noticed Dalton on his way towards Adrian, so he slowly started walking towards him, blowing out the smoke

Dalton: He walked up to Adrian with a cheeky grin You look very inviting right now.

Adrian: He looked over Dalton's shoulders, his eyes locking at Dalton's parents Your dad is looking

Dalton: He chuckled soft and shook his head Later then, perhaps… I got the others in, and you too, they told me to go pick you up since we're heading in now… If anyone asks, you are 3rd guitar and backup vocals

Adrian: He lifted both brows

Dalton: JUST if anyone asks he chuckled amused I'm not expecting you to get on stage.

Adrian: He took another drag of the cig, grunting soft I called Raven… Malou and him are on the way. I'm sorry I didn't ask first, but you were busy and it's all happening so fast. I assumed she would be sad if she doesn't get to join, and I also assumed you'd want her here anyway… Raven tags along so he can get them in in case they wont make it on the list.

Dalton: He nodded lightly and lowered his voice You know… this only makes you even more inviting…. I love that you think about others… thank you. He stepped a little closer, planting a lose hand on Adrian's hip I would kiss you if I could…

Adrian: He bit his bottom lip lightly, then frowned soft Your dad…

Dalton: He snorted lightly and let go of Adrian, kicking a stone on the ground

Dalton: No he turned around looking in the direction of his dad He's just curious about 'the new guy', he's always like that when he meets someone new…

Adrian: He sighed soft and nodded Okay… let's… do it then

Dalton: He turned back around with a soft frown Adrian, you're not forced to come, I hope you know that?

Dalton: he chuckled amused Alright… point taken… do you want to come?

Adrian: He observed Dalton's nervously fidgeting hands Yes, I'd like to come… and I'd love to take your hand right now, to calm you, but I'm just not ready yet, is that okay?

Dalton: He smiled shyly and nodded It's perfectly fine, Adrian, I'm not ready either, this place will be swarmed with journalists and photographers soon enough…. I uh he scratched the back of his neck nervously I don't have a problem with you and I, at all don't get me wrong.. but I'm in general a guy who like to keep as much of my private life out of the spotlight as possible. It's just the healthiest in my opinion… they tend to dissect anything private, if you give them the chance.

Adrian: He nodded lightly I understand… it's hard not kissing or touching you though he took a drag of his cig, trying to casually look at anything else than Dalton, a smirk tucking at the corner of his mouth

Dalton: He grinned wide at Adrian's words, then grabbed his cig, taking a deep drag, pushing it back between Adrian's lips in a very swift and fluid move There… now we kissed

Adrian: He couldn't help but chuckle at Dalton's cheekiness Right.. let's just join the others before you get us in trouble!

Dalton: He laughed loudly Good call!

As they headed inside Malou and Raven caught up with them, and the manager quickly showed them all around, leading them backstage to hang out with the band. He by then had realized half of the people did not belong to the band, but appreciated their effort to try to sneak in, so allowed them to stay. He was a kind round man in his early 60's and with a partially gray hair, and every time he would laugh or chuckle, he'd hold a palm against his round belly. He was one of those individuals that you immediately feel good around, and want to invite for coffee. Once he had shown them around their backstage room, he left to go take care of the other bands

Adrian: Everyone that didn't belong to the band was now sitting in a couch corner, with either a beer or coffee, loosely chit chatting while the band was discussing the lineup of songs. Adrian had been observing Dalton, lost in… well Dalton, when suddenly his ears picked up on Una and Malou, sitting on the couch next to the one himself, Raven and James were sitting on

Una: So I hear a little song bird sing a song about how you make him the happiest boy he has been in years? she smiled warmly

Adrian: ………

Malou: …….uhm…… she looked at Adrian with an expression that clearly showed how uncomfortable she was with the sudden subject, not to mention the fact that she knew the reason why Dalton was extra happy today, had little to do with her, and the credit had to go elsewhere

Una: I want to thank you dear, I have to say, I Knew all along you were the one.

Malou: ….. she forced an almost pained smile and quickly sipped her beer

Una: I have to say, I have honestly never seen him smile that big before after such a short

Raven: Una! he lightly waved at her and smiled big I'm sorry to interrupt, but may I ask you a question? I can't help but notice you have dyed your hair, and I have to ask, how do you get the color so rich and vibrant!

Una: Oh! She chuckled happily what a charming young man you are

Raven: Grinning wide, clearly amused by the fact she called him 'young'

Adrian: He locked eyes with Malou, smiling his best 'I'm sorry' smile

Malou: She forced a soft smile in return and shook her head, slowly getting up

James: Where are you going, dear?

Malou: I just gotta find the toilets, we ran over here, and I didn't make it to pee before we left from home

Adrian: I can help you find them…. if you want? he asked a bit hesitating

Malou: … uh yeah… that would be cool, thank you she forced a soft smile, and started heading out of the room

Dalton: Hey, are you guys leaving? he caught them by the door

Adrian: No… he looked at Malou questioning at least I don't think so?

Malou: No, I just need a bit of air that's all… she smiled soft at Dalton We'll be right in again

Malou: She looked a bit shy in the direction of his parents, then looked a bit questioning at Adrian Uhm…

Adrian: He turned his head to look slightly away, to give them space

Malou: She looked awkwardly in the direction of Dalton's parents again, then at Dalton It's…. uncomfortable sitting and taking credit for you being extra happy, when I know that success belongs to someone else

Dalton: He nodded lightly I see… well…. he quickly stepped a little closer, speaking in a lowered deep voice, but loud enough for Adrian to still be able to hear, even without wolf hearing on I think you're both a part of the reason… as a matter of fact.

Malou: A tiny hopeful smile started forming on her lips Really?

Dalton: He smiled bright Of course, Malou, I love you both very much!

Malou: she chuckled surprised and quickly stepped closer, grabbing onto his waist line, as she leaned in and kissed him firm but tender and full of love

Dalton: He smiled happily against her lips and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her as close as he could without crushing her

Adrian: ….. he sorta turned his back towards them and opened the door, leaning in the door frame, giving them some space, trying not to be jealous that he at the moment couldn't get to do the same. It was her turn for now, and he was happy for her, it would be his turn again, he'd just have to be patient for now.

Malou: She moaned soft against Dalton's lips and dug her fingers into his waistline, feeling happy butterflies dancing in her stomach

Una: Ahh look James!

Dalton: He couldn't help but chuckle lightly and pulled out of the kiss MUUUUUM!! He laughed cheekily and turned around, making faces at his mom, then looked back at Malou and Adrian I gotta get back to the boys, sorry, will you guys be okay?

Malou: She nodded lightly and looked back at Adrian for a second yes, we will be alright she planted a quick kiss on Dalton's lips then reached up, tussling his hair don't get too drunk! We will be back soon, I promise!

Dalton: I'll behave… for now at least… see you he leaned in, giving her 3 quick kisses, then pulled away, smiling bright at them both

Adrian: he slowly turned around, feeling weak in his knees as he was faced with Dalton's bright smile, and swore he could feel a blush starting to creep over his nose

Dalton: His smile turned more cheeky again, and he quickly winked at Adrian, then turned and walked to his band

Adrian: Definitely blushing now

Malou: She snorted as she noticed it, and quickly grabbed him by the arm, dragging him out of the room You're blushing!

Malou: She chuckled soft Oh I know! But I'm assuming you and him agreed not to be public yet?

Adrian: Yes, both among friends, and specially, well, in public he gestured around them

Malou: Yeah, he likes to keep private life and this life she made an equal gesture towards their surroundings as separate as possible…

She sighed deep I'm more than okay with you, Adrian… I'm more than okay sharing him, as long as he's happy, which he seems to be… so that makes me happy too. Will it take some time to get used to? Probably, and there will most likely be some awkward moments, and we will have to work together, to make it… well you know… work… but I think it's more than worth it, if we get to see that smile on his face more often. He certainly deserves it.

Adrian: He nodded agreeing So we're okay, even if I got to have sex with him first?

Malou: No, I'm wildly jealous about that! she snorted…. no for real… a bit jealous… not a lot… but, it just happened to play out that way, so yeah… hopefully my time will come too one day…. hopefully sooner than later she chuckled lightly and sipped her beer he makes me wildly horny!… is that inappropriate?

Adrian: He shrugged lightly I think we will have to be able to talk like this, in order to make this whole thing as natural as possible? Chapter 36 - December Sacrifice.

Episode 4. *The dinner went surprisingly great. Both Dalton's parents were just as warm and almost as calming as him, so when it was time for desert, Malou quickly offered to help Una take everything off the table, and prepare for desert, while the 'boys', would go sit in the living room, having a smoke* Una: Did you like the food well enough, dear? Malou: Oh yes, it was probably one of the best meals I had in years! *She smiled bright* Una: Oh! You flatter! *she chuckled warmly* Malou: No, I meant it *she smiled soft, and quickly grabbed some plates, heading towards the kitchen* Una: *She smiled warmly as she reached the kitchen, seconds after Malou* In that case, I thank you, my dear. It's nice to know I can still find my way around the kitchen. I'm not getting any younger, you know. Malou: *She smiled soft* Well, none of us are. Una: That's very true! *she chuckled lightly* so tell me, Malou, do you have a man of your own? ...or woman for that matter?

Malou: *She chuckled amused, yet shyly and quickly headed back towards the dining room, grabbing some more stuff, sighing soft as she heard Dalton laugh from the living room, looking towards the sound of his voice* No, I don't.

Una: *She observed Malou closely, but before she could get to say anything, Malou already made her way back to the kitchen*

Malou: *She placed everything on the kitchen counter, then looked towards the sink* Should I-

Una: Oh no no, we have a dishwasher, James can fill it later! Don't worry about that my d- *she got interrupted as suddenly the doorbell rang* That's odd? *she quickly grabbed a towel, drying her hands* I best go see who that could be! *She smiled politely at Malou* I'll be right back, my dear!

Malou: *She quickly headed back into the dining room, grabbing the last couple things, hearing voices in the hallway as she reached back to the kitchen. two females? Una and someone else? Oh no! It sounded as if they were heading in HER direction! SHITSHITSHIT! Although everything had went completely fine, and her nerves had only been mildly showing, in front of what she had assumed, she still wasn't prepared for a stranger to add to the mix. So in a quick attempt to escape, she accidentally knocked over a plate, grabbing it mid air, although not managing to catch up with both fork and knife, sending them loudly clattering down on the kitchen floor*

Una: Are you alright? *She looked questioning at Malou, as she stood in the kitchen, with someone next to her, Malou easily recognized from a picture she had seen of her. Dalton's ex!*

Malou: *She quickly put the plate back on the table, just as Dalton came rushing into the kitchen* Is everyone oka- *he stopped next to Malou, as he spotted his ex*

Una: .....

Malou: *Her hands covered in leftover food, noticing some gravy was running down her leg. Crap! Of course this would be the first time she would have to face HER!!!*

Dalton: What's she doing here?!

Ex: I was invited, remember?

Dalton: Before or after you started fading me out of your life, then kept me on pause for months, not being able to decide if we were done or not, calling me whenever you got a bit lonely, then once you had gotten your own needs covered, you were out again? *He spoke in an ice cold voice*

Ex: Dalton, that's not... *she sighed soft* beside, it looks like you found a nice replacement for me already *she looked at Malou with killer eyes*

Malou: *Feeling a panic attack starting to poke*

James: What's the fuzz about? *he joined the kitchen*

Dalton: No fuzz dad, we were just leaving. *he forced a wide apologetic smile at Malou*

Ex: If I could just talk to you for a moment?

Una: It's Christmas, maybe if we all-

Dalton: *Starting to shout*

Ex: *Shouting back*

James: *He quickly grabbed Malou's shoulder and dragged her into the living room* I think it's best we give them some privacy. Do you smoke? *he smiled inviting at Malou*

Malou: No. I haven't since I was 25. *she kept looking in the direction of the kitchen* although right now a cigarette don't seem like the worst idea!

James: *He chuckled lightly* How about a Whiskey instead? And some paper for your hands *he quickly grabbed some paper napkins, handing her some* I'm sorry about your pants

Malou: It's fine. It will wash off. *She sighed deep and quickly dried her hands as good as she could*

James: *He handed her a glass with Whiskey* is on the rocks good enough?

Malou: *She forced a friendly smile, then sipped the brown liquid, frowning soft as it hit her tongue* It's perfect. Thank you.

*They sat for a few minutes, before James decided to try to drown out the worst of the fighting, by putting on a record*

James: Do you know this one?

Malou: No *she shook her head lightly and sighed, not really in the mood for music, or for staying for that matter, but just as she started contemplating to get up, Una walked into the room, smiling soft at her*

Una: I'm sorry dear, she kinda startled me, standing there in the door, and the snow was coming down rather heavy, I felt bad turning her away, so I told her she could come in for a coffee.

Malou: *She sighed soft* No, it's okay, it's your home *she quickly took another mouthful of the Whiskey and stood up* But I think it's best I leave now.

Una: Nonsense, please stay, I'm sure Dalton would want you to.

Malou: *She forced a soft smile* I'm not so sure I know if that's true.

Una: *She looked at James with a small squint*

James: *Nodding*

Una: Malou *she smiled warmly* We know our son can sometimes be a bit slow at first when it comes to... matters of the heart, but he figures it out soon enough. What I'm trying to say is, he has been absolutely miserable for months

James: Years!

Malou: *She quickly looked at him, then back at Una*

Una: Tonight, is the first time I have seen him genuinely smile and laugh in a very long time, and I'm pretty sure it's all thanks to you. He seems very fond of you, whether he himself has noticed it or not.

Malou: *She frowned surprised*

Una: I'm quite sure dear, and maybe he even knows, he just hasn't dared to act on it yet, cause the last one burned him so bad, and for so long.

James: Yet you let her in tonight! After we were finally rid of her! Tsh!

Una: Yes, well, we can't all be as flawless as you! *she grunted soft and shook her head, then looked back at Malou with a hopeful smile* Please consider to stay. They seem quieter now, I'm sure she'll leave soon

Malou: *She sighed soft, worried about Dalton, worried about her own growing discomfort, and mild anxiety. Yet wondering if Una could be right? It was her son after all...wouldn't she know? They seemed very close.*

Dalton: *He suddenly came marching through the living room, heading out into the garden*

Una: Dalton! *She quickly rushed after her son*

James: *He sighed deep and stood up* I'll go let the uninvited guest out, once and for all! If it's that damn cold, I'll gladly pay her cab! *he winked as he passed Malou*

Una: *She returned inside only a short moment later* I can't find him! I think he went over the fields! I'm very worried, he wasn't wearing a jacket! I'll head back out after him!

Malou: *She shook her head and quickly rushed towards Una* It's too dangerous in the dark! Let me! I'll just grab our jackets! Do you have a flash light?

Una: Oh, there's no need my dear, it's pretty light, you'll be able to see well because of the newly fallen snow.

Malou: *She nodded confirming. She had her phone with her after all, on almost full battery, in case she would need a light, so she quickly ran to the jackets, grabbing hers, getting it on fast, then grabbed Dalton's rushing past Una out the garden door* I'll bring him back!

Una: *She nodded anxiously and rubbed her hands*

Malou: *She quickly followed the track of Dalton's steps through the garden and out a gate. Relieved they were easy to spot in the fallen snow. She hurried down a small field, finding him not more than 2 minutes away from the house, already on his way back up the hill* Your jacket! *she panted lightly and quickly reached it towards him*

Dalton: *He sighed soft and sipped the wine bottle he was carrying, figuring it was empty, then threw it angrily in the snow* I just wanna get drunk or high or some fucking other thing to forget all about her!

Malou: *She sighed soft* Dalton.... jacket... please

Dalton: *He reached out, grabbing the jacket, quickly getting it on and zipped it* Thank you *he sighed deep and stuck his cold hands in his pockets* did you come out here for me?

Malou: *She nodded lightly* I was just about to leave, but your mom was worried *she lowered her head lightly, kicking a small stone* I'm... worried...

Dalton: You are? *he asked surprised*

Malou: *She sighed soft* A lot. I worry you'll end up doing something stupid you'll regret later. *she shrugged lightly* or people left behind will regret...

Dalton: I'm not suicidal if that's what you mean

Malou: No. But drugs... Dalton... it's not many steps away from a possible end.

Dalton: ..... *he sighed deep*

Malou: I get that you need an escape, we all do sometimes. But drugs is just not the solution at all. Well, neither is alcohol, but rather that than drugs... please. *She stepped a little closer, lowering her voice* I don't want to lose you.

Dalton: *He sniffled his nose lightly, surprised by her words. But welcoming them, like a warm cup of tea on a freezing day* Let's go back inside, I'll call a cab.

Malou: No desert?

Dalton: ..... *he chuckled surprised*

Malou: I'm pretty sure your dad sent her home... and they have alcohol... and food.... I was really looking forwards to that desert *she chuckled lightly* I mean, sure, we can take the cab ride home again, but would you rather do it in bad mood, or slightly better mood?

Dalton: *He chuckled again* You have a point!

Malou: *She chuckled relieved* Come on then!

Dalton: *He took a big step, then slipped, half falling, but quickly broke the fall with his hands*

Malou: You alright? *she reached a hand towards him* Come on! it's not so slippery over here!

Dalton: *He grabbed her hand and dragged himself up, quickly stepping closer to her*

Malou: See, not so bad over here! *she smiled encouraging at him*

Dalton: True *he nodded lightly* But I think I better hold onto you just in case *he smiled soft*

Malou: *Her heart started pounding faster, harder. Dalton was still holding her hand, AND intending to keep holding it??!?!!?* Sure *she blushed lightly and started walking*

Una: *She exclaimed happily as the two of them walked back into the house* It's so good you're back! Come come! Come into the warmth!

Dalton: *He sighed soft and stepped closer, letting go of Malou's hand* Don't let her in again, it's over, mum.

Una: Yes, I know dear, I'm sorry, I was just so surprised to see her, and with the snow falling down, I didn't like leaving her in the cold.

Dalton: No I know that. But I just don't want to see her again. So for another time, not that I think there will be another time, but if another time comes-

Una: *She nodded agreeing* From now on your dad will open the door

Dalton: *He chuckled lightly* Yes, that's probably for the best.

*A couple hours, dessert and a bunch of drinks later, the two of them were in a cab on the way home*

Dalton: *He kept sighing here and there, starring out the foggy windows*

Malou: *She kept observing him. Worried. Wanting to offer her hand again. But at the same time, fearing it would be too much* Hey? *she said in a soft voice, as she gently stroke one of her hands over his upper arm, giving it a gentle squeeze* Are you alright?

Dalton: *He nodded soft and looked at her* Yeah... just.. exhausted mentally

Malou: *She nodded lightly* Understandable.

Dalton: *He sighed deep, then unexpectedly let himself fall towards her, leaning his head on her shoulder*

Malou: *She couldn't help but smile, but said nothing, out of fear he would change his mind*

Dalton: *On their way inside as they arrived home, he suddenly stopped* Hey, I'm gonna head in the studio for a while... I think there's some stuff I need to get out.

Malou: *She nodded lightly* You want me to come with you?

Dalton: ...mmhno *he shrugged lightly* I think it's something I have to do on my own.

Malou: Okay *she nodded again* just...please don't do anything stupid.

Dalton: *He nodded lightly* I wont, I promise.

Malou: *She sighed lightly* Okay, I'll be upstairs, if you need me, just call me, okay?

Dalton: *He nodded soft* Yeah, thank you. I'll be back soon, it shouldn't take long, an hour max.

Malou: *She sighed soft as she locked the front door behind her. She had to trust him, but at the same time she was worried something would happen to him if he were to... she shook her head and kicked off her boots and jacket, then made her way to the cats bowls, feeding them quickly* Yeah yeah guys, you didn't starve the whole day! *She chuckled lightly and made her way to the kitchen. She made a cup of tea and sat down in front of the tv, flipping through the channels for a while, till she found something that was entertaining enough to watch. An hour went by, and as he still hadn't returned, she started worrying more. She could make him a cup of tea... or would that be rude? No, she shouldn't interrupt him. She sighed soft and laid down. Worrying as she kept her eyes on the screen, trying to distract herself. She woke up about 40 minutes later. It had now been almost 2 hours! She sighed deep and got up, she would make the tea and go offer him. What if something had happened? She quickly made the tea, got her boots on and headed downstairs, trying to prepare herself for the worst. But how could she? He was the one. How do you prepare - she luckily didn't get to finish that sentence, as she spotted him asleep on the couch. She smiled soft, and walked inside, locking the door silently behind her. She walked closer, gently placing the mug on a chair next to the couch and grabbed a blanket, gently pulling it over him*

Dalton: Mmhh *he moaned soft and turned lightly* Malou? Did you bring tea? *he asked with tired puffy eyes, it was easy to see he had been crying*

Malou: Yeah... I didn't know you were sleeping

Dalton: *He forced a sleepy smile* Neither did I.... that's very sweet of you

Malou: I was worried about you

Dalton: *He shook his head lightly* Don't be, please... I'll be alright... it's just heavy...

Malou: *She nodded lightly* .... you wanna go to bed?

Dalton: Mh... no *he wrinkled his nose lightly* I'm fine here

Malou: It's honestly quite chilly, let me at least turn on some heat then! *She quickly walked to a radiator, and cranked the heat up a bit, then returned to him, grabbing the blanket, and as she pulled it further up, she noticed the back of his neck was quite cold* Dalton, you're freezing!

Dalton: ... a bit

Malou: *She sighed soft* please come upstairs

Dalton: I'm too tired... *he sniffled his nose* lay with me...

Malou: ........... *well, as much as she hated seeing him sad... and cold... she wasn't about to pass up that opportunity* Well there isn't much space but *she quickly kicked off her boots and laid down next to him on the couch* I'm gonna fall down!

Dalton: *He sighed soft*

Malou: You really are cold....

Dalton: *He sighed again. He needed love. Intimacy. Or at the very least someone to just hold him for a while. Someone, like her*

Malou: ..... *she hesitated a bit, then wrapped an arm around him, pulling herself tight against him, both to prevent herself from falling down, but also to try to give him some of her body heat*

Dalton: *He sighed more relieved and leaned back against her. Feeling a closeness that made his whole body buzz with a warmth he had been longing for*

Malou: *She snuggled her forehead against his back head, her nose tip against the cold skin on the back of his neck, trying to get even closer, hoping it would comfort him*

Dalton: *And that's how he drifted of, feeling her warm breath on the back of his neck. Feeling as if this was truly the connection he had been searching for. Once again feeling so safe with her. Close. Connected.*
