ok. so. idk how it is in most translations across the world, but at least in English and Spanish, Yeong’s title is “Unbreakable Sword.” And the title seems to fit him, so I’ve never questioned it.

Until today.

In Korean, his title is “천하 제일검”

**disclaimer here that I don’t know Korean so this is just based on me trying to do research on this**

검 is just sword, so that, at least, is correct in the translation. But the other parts of the title have yielded more interesting results.

제일 when entered into wordreference gives a translation of “first, primary, the most.”

천하 refers to the Chinese concept of Tianxia, which in this context I think is referring to all under the rule of the sovereign.

So putting those pieces together… does that mean that Yeong’s title isn’t calling him unbreakable… but is instead calling him Gon’s primary? The best sword in Corea? The first sword belonging to the monarch? Something of that ilk?

Like I said, I don’t speak Korean so I can’t say for sure… but what I’m fairly certain about is that rather than little Gon dubbing him unbreakable, he told little Yeong that he was very, if not the MOST important sword to him. And I think that’s beautiful

Before Yeong passed out, his last memory was with the King. Damn if that isn't love and loyalty forged to be unbreakable, I don't know what is. I just want to appreciate Yeong's loyalty up to the very end.

I just started getting into K-drama and I just got introduced to the wonderful human being and actor that is Woo Do Hwan and you're telling me I wont be able to see him again for two something years because he'll be doing military service? Damn am I late

These two sentences got me squealing in happiness. Im so happy Yeong now has a complete happy family. My heart is soft Im so happy I want to cry

He even nicknamed them similar to Eunsup's siblings. You can tell he really got attached to them in the time he spent there.

This is the part that makes me sad though. Eunsup's 65th dream wont be fulfilled. He wont even remember having that dream or meeting Yeong at all. Still I believe deep in his heart is a memory of his bond with Yeong which inspired him to join NIS! Im just so happy, I cant even express how happy I am in words.

The King Eternal Monarch Finale Spoiler

A happy ending? A legit happy ending? I mean Im not complaining I really am not complaining at all. The waves of reliefs washing over my soul are overwhelming. I thought someone would die or something but thankfully I was wrong. I convinced myself ever since episode 8 or something that there's no happy ending and I shouldnt hope for one. I convinced myself theres no happy ending to save myself the heartache so you can imagine my immense confusion, utter relief, happiness, and shock all at once that it was a happy end.

Literallly one of the best shows I've watched ever. Bravo! It will forever be etched in my heart.
