Weirdly Specific Unsettling Childhood Memories
•grandfather's owl painting that watches you no matter where in the room you are. You demanded a night light in that room until you were eleven because you were convinced that it was the only thing that would keep the owls quiet.
•The three foot tall triangle of shadow behind the garage door that the lightbulb can never reach. Something is probably going to emerge from it someday.
•Something silvery slips through the tall grass next to your foot. You tell your dad it was a snake, but you've never seen one that was such a brilliant silver.
•Hey, I don't remember having a toy lizard in my room- OH IT IS NOT A TOY AND IT IS DEAD.
•"If you're going to ride your bike around the block, stay off of ____ street. If any vehicle from that street starts following you, pull into the first yard you see and pretend you live there."
•forgetting that the beads your sister put in your favorite doll's hair were glow in the dark and waking up in the middle of the night to see a glowing 18 inch figure standing at the end of your bed.
Admittedly, my childhood was a little bit weird in retrospect
