Rocket! #6 - October 11th 2017
It isn’t a secret that the writer Bill Mantlo is a big Beatles’ fan so we are going to find similarities between Rocket Raccoon and Beatles’ songs.
Incredible Hulk #271.
Cover artists: Allen Milgrom.
Writer: Bill Mantlo.
Pencilers and inkers: Sal Buscema.
Colourist: Bob Sharen.
1st- Rocky Raccoon: “Now somewhere in the black mountain hills of Dakota
There lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon...”
2nd- Wall Russ, yes “I am the walrus coo coo cachooo”
3rd- Gideon’s bible. Yes again “Rocky Raccoon”( Even if it’s not the same bible since the one in Marvel comics this bible was written by the First Comers and supposed to hold the secret origin of the Keystone Quadrant and it’s inhabitants) : “ Rocky Raccoon checked into his room. Only to find Gideon's bible.”
4th- Rocky Raccoon in The Beatles song was a boy whose love ran off with another man, while Rocket Raccoon, in the Marvel comics, is literally a Raccoon who was left behind by alien scientists in a planet named Halfworld. Also their personalities are pretty similar.
If you find some others similiarities please share them.
Everyone has been fighting over this book, the Gideon Bible, and Pyko is the only one who has actually been able to read the thing, and it turns out that Rocket’s homeworld was created as a place where robot overlords took care of the... lets just say mental rejects of a starfaring race, but the robots didn’t want to be caretakers... so they hyper-evolved the animals of the planet, Rocket’s people, in order to have them do the caretaker jobs instead...
Characters from the Rocket Raccoon comics: Blackjack O'Hare, Wal Russ, Lylla and Uncle Pyko. I changed their designs a bit.
