Aaron: loljk james never said that
Holly: yeah he didn't, but we really did get funded $2,128.
The Uncommon Fund
This is possibly one of the coolest parts of student life at UChicago. Every year, we collectively vote for ideas - some of them crazy, some of them less crazy. The fund offers $85,000 to students for innovative and impactful student projects and initiatives on campus. Here are all of the projects, and these are some cool ones:
Maroon Collegiate Sportswear
Maroon Collegiate Sportswear aims to offer the UChicago community high-quality, unique, and desirable apparel for men, influenced both directly and indirectly by century-old photographs of the University’s athletic teams and student life.
Dean Boyer Appreciation Day
The focal point will be the Quad, which will feature a variety of catered European foods and student-run activities such as “Make Your Own Mustache,” cultural performances, and lessons/tours pertaining to Chicago and Habsburg Empire history and foreign languages, etc.
Dinner in the White City
Within 5 minutes, tables, tablecloths, and decorations are put up. Within 10 minutes, the first course is brought out. 'Dinner in the White City' will be UChicago's first major dining flash mob and will include a 3 course dinner and performances from various RSOs.
Four days left! Get those applications in.

How do I apply to the Uncommon Fund?
Great question! First round applications are due Friday, February 8th, so there's still time.
All you need to do for the first round application is to submit a one minute long video and answer a few short questions here. We don't need specifics, we just want to know your vision - the who, what, when, and where. The how will come later. The video can be as produced or as low-maintenance as you want it to be; we've had many submissions where the first round video is someone simply talking into the camera on their computer in their room.
So get in your submission ASAP!
