The Underbelly Project is a show that took 18 months to complete. It is one of the largest shows of pieces ever mounted in one place, and many of the contributors are significant figures in both the street-art world and the commercial trade that now revolves around it.
The gallery, whose existence has been a closely guarded secret, closed on the same night it opened.
Collectors can’t buy the art. The public can’t see it. And the only people with a chance of stumbling across it are the urban explorers who prowl the city’s hidden infrastructure or employees of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The exhibition has been mounted, illegally, in a long-abandoned subway station.

Se sabe que una de las "galerías" mas impresionantes del mundo se encuentra en uno de los lugares mas extraños e inimaginables: en túneles del metro abandonados en Nueva York. The Underbelly Project, fue un evento y a su vez es una huella de arte urbano en su estado mas puro, hecho por el simple placer de crear y dejar una huella.
Esta vez, fue exportado a Paris, donde se reunieron varios de los graffiteros mas importantes del mundo: Alice Pasquini, C215, Futura, Shoeone, entre otros. Ellos lo expresan mejor: "Solos en la oscuridad hicimos una marca que nadie verá".
