I think it's really interesting how in the two different neutral routes ive done. being as kind as possible brings out the worst in alphys (where she's manipulative and uses mettaton to try and trick you into being impressed by her, and never comes clean about her other lies)

and being as cruel as possible leads to you never meeting her until the phone call at the end, but it having actually brought out the best in her? where she's realized that she had the ability to save people, and in doing so also goes public about her experiments, and ends up in a leadership position and (rightly) considered a hero

doesnt look like fightning and not acting is having really an impact on the story so far except for the fight against lancer and susie wich is actually really sweet when your beating the shit out of them and a few other talking npc, but well see at the end i guess

i got to the sans fight btw also I really like how flowey explicitly calls out ppl who watch videos of others playing the murder route instead of doing it themselves as being cowards lmfao

I gave my sister Undertale for her bday yesterday even tho her bday is the 29th bc her school break is short and I want to have time to watch her play the whole thing and we're going to play it soon

UNFORTUNATELY I'm wearing the only clean shirt I have right now, and it's a a massive undertale spoiler. And she's a very visual and fashion conscious person who would definitely notice so I'm just going to have to wear a sweatshirt the whole time we're hanging out I guess?? lmao

Just accidentally fucking MURDERED Toriel... Did not mean to do that. I didn't think she'd actually die, bc I'm like 4 years old. But now it's done, I mean I could go back to my last save point but I do kinda appreciate the drama of my little baby protagonist going all out in their "fight" but not expecting them to let us kill her

this post is updated liveblogging of my sister's blind playthrough of undertale im gonna put it under a cut bc only a few of my followers will care i think and i dont want to spoil ppl who scroll by it who will play One Day

sister undertale update:

she's on a firmly neutral route (as expected) she killed a few froggits etc, she did Try to spare toriel a couple of times but she gave up too quickly and also didnt realize that she was going to Die Dead and was very surprised and saddened. which is p much what i figured would happen ngl. however i did Not expect her to

be extremely good at FIGHTing, aka she gets the thing right in the center perfectly almost every time so is deadlier than average

realize quickly that she gets more loot for killing and so do that by default, unless she's died a couple times trying that strategy and thinks doing something else will be easier. (interestingly she has not bothered to equip the tough glove and is doing serial murder via stick.) like i wouldve guessed her neutral run would be bloody but i thought shed run away more often from random encounters she didnt see how to spare, and theres a couple times when she's killed things (again mainly froggits but also snowdrake ;-;) that had yellow names, mainly for the gold

so far she's just made it to waterfall and the status is

pacifist clear: blookie, greater dog, dogamy&dogaressa, papyrus

killed: toriel, doggo, lesser dog

(actually she ohko'd lesser dog but then got killed by the dog marriage and then when it reset, the next time she just fled from him bc she felt like doing sth different, so lesser dog survives... inadvertently resurrected by the lovers...)

i kinda thought she was going to kill papyrus because she gave up on doing dialogue options fairly quickly but bc she flirted in her first turn, and then had trouble w/the heart being blue and couldnt get used to it, so she needed to stop and eat enough that he spared her when he was at like 1/3 of his health

she's also WAY BETTER at puzzles than i thought she would be tbh. not in a backhanded compliment way, but like, she solved the snowdin 'turn the Xs into Os' puzzles in one try each (except for falling off of the ice just due to poor motor control) i was impressed

anyway she got a lot further than i thought she would in one day partially bc she got very sucked in and kept playing until all three of us (brother was there too) got hungry and had to stop to eat and realized we'd been in the same position for almost 3 hours

oh she's also the first person ive met who actually did try to name frisk (and thereby named chara) a self-insert like she named them her actual irl name which is kinda fun.
