I’ve just finished listening to the Big Finish Boxset- UNIT: Assembled and it is AMAZING!

... can we have Yates, Benton and Jo make an appearance in New Who please? (although not a Chibnall written episode, I don’t trust him with UNIT after what he did)

Okay so we got to hear Osgood fangirling over Jo when they met, but can you imagine how much she died when Kate told her that they were going to recruit Jo for the mission?

Osgood, in the middle of working on something: “So, who’d you get to be our advisor?”

Kate: “Well, I thought we’d get the best. Do you know how we could track the whereabouts of Jo Jones?”

Osgood, freezing immediately: “Jo Jones? THE Jo Jones? The Jo Jones that went to the antimatter universe with Omega? The Jo Jones who was chased by Ogrons? The-“

Kate: “...Yes. I thought you might accompany her-“

Osgood, jumping out of her seat: “ME? WITH JO? I have to find my velvet coat! Being in the same room with Jo...”

Kate: *slowly backs away*

UNIT: Assembled from Big Finish and the worlds of Doctor Who. For me, as a fan of the old and new versions of the programme, this was simply wonderful. The two branches of the UNIT family blended beautifully together—in particular I enjoyed Jo Grant Jones together with Petronella Osgood as a charming double act and mutual admiration society. This series includes brilliant work (directed by Ken Bentley) from Jemma Redgrave, Ingrid Oliver, Warren Brown, Katy Manning, Richard Franklin, John Levene, Richard Hope, Nicholas Briggs, and the fabulous Neve McIntosh. I’ve always liked the Silurians as antagonists in Doctor Who stories, and this cycle of four, well-written stories takes no unfair liberties, but still manages to enrich the mythology of our reptilian predecessors on this planet. I absolutely loved this collection.

I’m trying to not get too hyped for UNIT: Assembled because though I enjoy the UNIT audios a ton they never quite go the direction I wish they did, but damn, apparently Osgood and Jo are gonna spend the whole time together and that sounds delightful.

I have achieved something I never thought I would: I completely forgot to watch Holby because I was too busy screaming about how cute Jo Grant is and the breathiness of Kate's voice when she is having a fist fight with an alien
