UNIT 33 SUCESS AND FAILURE

Description --> In this unit the author explains the sucess ad failures that contains subjects of cash mountains and surplaces, debt and debt problems, turnarounds and bailouts, and bankruptcy.

What I learned --> In this unit I learned about the sucess and failures that contains vocabulary of cash mountains and surplaces, debt and debt problems, turnarounds and bailouts, and bankruptcy.

Cash mountains and surplaces:distributed, earnings, relained earnings, cash pile, cash mountain, and acqusition.

Debt and debt problems: repayment services, burden, debt, crisis, rescheduling, restructuring, and debult.

Turnarounds and bailouts: sick, arling, troubled, turning around, turnaround of, callapse, bail out, and bailout.

Bankruptcy: filing for bankruptcy, protection, creditors, go into administration, administrator, goes into liquidation, receivers, wound up, and bankrupt.

Deadline

Deadline is an interesting stop motion animation and it brings the visual focus onto sticky notes , something to simple but so important. Deadline , stating the name it is obviously about a piece or work that is due in on a set time. Going through through the frames it shows your more and more about what happens when you leave work to late and you do it within your last few remaining minutes. My two favourite frames are where he begins to play block buster with his book above with the sticky notes representing the actual game also using the famous driving game for Gameboy users.

Rippled

Rippled is more of an advanced piece of stop motion which portrays the image of a suburban wasteland where all the lights hide and such within secret. Working on a piece for 6 months makes the stop motion animation itself look effective due to the amount of time put into it. I personally like the lights and ripples they use in the video in a dark environment , it makes it stand out a huge amount and created a diverse contrast effect.

AT-AT DAY AFTERNOON

This animation is shorter than the others. It brings a fictional character/object to life with stop motion which I find humorous and excellent at the same time. This kind of work must of taken awhile to complete because of how close the frames are together its doesn’t even look like a stop motion. This animation definitely works with how the aimed to create it portraying the AT-AT as a pet dog.

The PEN Story

This stop motion was produced at a very high standard and also for a camera company promotion of how long “Olympus” have been around for . In the stop frame animation I didn’t really have a certain part I like or disliked because I loved it all , it was well balanced , not to much for the eyes to take in. I would say this stop motion is very successful due to the professionalism used in this piece of work.

Photography Lesson 1

What did we do?

in the first lesson we had a brief history of photography to write on tumblr, then we had some example cameras come round the class to show the history of photography.

What did you learn?

we learnt the origins of photography how people used to use things to take photographs like projecting the countryside into a room and tracing the image for painting later. Also in lesson we learnt about the implications of photography on the media like in Vietnam and the american civil war, which through the media had gotten a bad reputation from the images and news coming from the front line.

How is this useful?

With a better understanding of photography's origins and uses i have a better understanding of where photography is useful and needed.

Unit 33: Lens-based Image Making

Aim and purpose

This unit introduces learners to skills in and knowledge of a variety of lens-based technologies and processes for image making. Learners will explore the potential of this area in response to given themes or briefs.  Unit introduction There is a broad range of techniques that tutors and learners can within this discipline. Film-based or digital technologies can be used along with the investigation and use of processes like photograms, control of cameras, composition, editing and darkroom techniques. When meeting the requirements of design briefs it is essential to develop skills in a broad range of areas. Learners need to be taught how to experiment with a variety of media in order to develop the creative and technical skills needed for the art and design industry. Although this unit is primarily concerned with developing proficiency in lens-based image making, the overall aim is to incorporate these skills within the chosen art and design discipline and apply them in order to communicate visually. Learners will need to understand how to analyse a given theme or brief to plan and produce the most effective outcomes. This will involve using visual sources to develop creative ideas and will need to take into account appropriate and available technologies and equipment in order to build on technical skills. Learners must be made aware of the health and safety issues that apply to this area of study and explore them in sufficient detail to limit risk. Tutors will demonstrate safe working practices for equipment and processes. Through this unit learners will develop an understanding of how to respond to a given theme or brief that incorporates lens-based image making and how to develop appropriate ideas and final solutions, using relevant technologies and techniques to produce outcomes.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit a learner should:

1 Know about lens-based image making

2 Be able to develop ideas using lens-based technologies

3 Be able to produce final outcomes for a set brief
