Two weeks ago, the Swedish Port Workers' Union sent a letter to the country's infrastructure minister, Tomas Eneroth. In the letter, they urged Sweden to close its ports to Russian and Russian-bound cargo vessels. Otherwise, the port workers themselves would boycott the ships. The two weeks have passed, and the port workers are now refusing to serve Russian ships, chartered or otherwise, and all ships headed to and from Russia. “We are doing this to support the civilian population of Ukraine and our colleagues in the ports of the country,” said Erik Helgesson, vice chairman of the Union.
